yeah, it is a little tough, but if you use a combination of pressing in on the plastic side panel and pull up on the carpet board, it should pop up. you have the 60/40 split seats down, right?

all you really need is a goodass set of spkrs up front.. the rear deck is just for filler. In fact, this weekend im going to rip out the speakers i put in the rear deck.. hell I dont even have them hooked up anymore. My friend wants to buy em.

I think after doing it once, removing the rear deck isn't that hard...I've done it many times since first changing my speakers...all I do is fold the seats down, remove the seatbelt panels (pry them off with a flat screwdriver), then use a pair of plyers to squeeze the clips under the deck while prying it up from the front. Then BAM! its out. Of course I might have made it look easier than it is, but it's not really too hard...in my opinion...compared to converting from stock headlights to nis-knacks ones...

I just lifted it up in the center and let the forward edge buckle a bit. I used a shorty screw driver to fasten them in. You can't tell it was ever buckled, even with the seats down and I'm totally anal about that kind of stuff too. It doesn't seem like the right thing to do, but no harm-no foul.

go in the trunk you should see the clips at the back just below the speakers when you look at it directly it should be there their plastis clips and the speakers are basically unscrewing it....

The easiest way to get the rear deck carpeting/panel off is this…

get an unsuspecting buddy to do it! :D

why not look in the haines manual? Every person should own one for their car. :)

well, I popped the reardeck off again this weekend to take out the speakers. Basically all I did was get a long standard screw driver and pry up a little on the edges, than i pryed up on the middle enough to fit my hand under there.. then put some muscle into it and pull it up real hard till all the fasteners unsnap. It should pop right outta there. You cant be afraid to brake the damn thing or else you'll be there all day tryin to get it off.

You know, if you all get tired of taking it in and out everytime to change speakers, do what I did!!!! Take it out, mark and cut your holes, reinstall it with some bad-azz 6x9's!!!! It actually looks factory believe it or not!!! And no, there are no clearing or fitment issues at all!! :D

I've taken my rear deck off about 15-20 times (Why? Who knows) and just be sure to be careful and disconnect the three connections that go to the rear glass. It also helps to pull the bottom of the rear seat off, too, the backs fold down a little better.
