Damn! If its not one thing its another. I just had a clutch job done.
My car was running fine prior. Now it stumbles at low rpms almost like a broken o-ring (but not the case) I removed the plugs they are black fouled /tip is white (wierd) me and a friend took a peek on top of pistons with the power on no fuels leakage, fuel pressure is fine also. Car is hitting 300C egt temps at idle. My techtom is telling me 3 degrees ignition timing. Kepp in mind my car was running fine before this.We checked msd box connection, coil connectio(stock),transitor connection and vaccum lines etc. Also my 02,tps are working like normal. basically the car seems to be running in limp mode. i reset the ecu and no difference. i do get a code 21 which is primary ignition signal which i have had for the longest. The only thing i think of is distributor or a skipped tooth. Any thoughts? or experience is welcome. I have the 4bar ecu so i also checked cobra maf connections .

Definetly sounds like you are in limp mode.

I'm willing to be the shop that did it forgot to remove a harness, or whatnot and something got disconnected (Pulled out of the connector) or shorted.

Is the ground strap back on the motor and tranny? Did you read the voltage at the MAF to see if you have good ground and signal?

Those are the two telling things I would look for. Since you have an MDM100 what does the MAF reading show when driven?

I had a friggin solder joint inside the distributor crack loose and gave me allllll kinds of headaches. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me...on day by chance I pulled on the wire while idling and the car stalled. I repeated that several times and figured it out.

I hate electricity. lol

Well Jay we took a volt meter to both grounds on the cobra maf. 1 ground is the original the extra ground which the maf has is connected to the original manifold point. The original ground read seperatley .27 the new ground(or reground) read 0. So what i did is just ran the car no load with the reground wire attched only. Results where the same the car falls on its face about 2800 running fat egts 300-350. Now running just the stock ground its the same behavior, with both together same behavior. there was something that i was told that there is a connector gree wire and yellow wire ...hm . It looks like its was connected before. Its a harness that runs in the loom under coil area. Is it possible its my msd box? I pulled the plug wires while car was idling and the sparks sound nice and crispy. Every cylinder is firing. All my sensors are reading normal like tps, neutral switch, afm reading is normal .06- .17 @idle and up (cobra maf) the 02 reading is low but thats beacause its running rich. When i drive the 02 cycles open /closed loop. Well tomorrow hopefully i will know more i might be going with Luis down there to see whats up. it unfortunate *** my brother-inlaw did the work.

Thanks Alot Lawrence

Ok checked out the car today again. We Bypassed the msd and the car still behaves the same just a tiny bit rougher. I swapped the distributor (ok) power transitor(ok)coil(ok)tps(ok)pinched pcv hose(no vaccum leaks) reset ecu and cleared code 21/11. Ran car again let it run for a bit and checked again no codes. Disconnected the negative cable let it sit for a while (same behavior). We checked the connector on the ecu and reconnected to make sure (ok) same behavior. We even did a compression check all the cylinders read 160-170. So i think it may be the ecu.
or some wiring shortage because all the connectors are in order.
Any experience the stumble above 3-4 almost like igntion is cutting out or injectors dumping. You know like an after maf leak.
Oh timing is at 3-5 degrees (techtom) egts are 300c

Thanks Lawrence
