Has anybody ever purchased some Kick Panels or had some custom made for a 200SX? I just wanted to hear about your experience with them, and how much you paid for them.
-thanks

they are expensive to get made, before I was really into going fast, I was going to buy some and have them put in, but lost intrest after I found out how much they would have cost me. just get a good set of door speakers, plenty of power and you should be fine.

Brian, do u remember how much u were quoted to have the panels made?

I already have some cerwin vega stealth 6.5" spkrs in teh front doors and jbl gto 6.5" spkrs on the back deck (all of them r coaxials) They are all hooked up to an Alpine 75Wx4 Amp and I'm not satisfied with them. I want to get some kick panels with some Focal components to really clean up my mid/highs. I have a JL 12w3 sub in a custom made ported box for bass. I'm pickin up a Lanzar 1200D amp today to push the sub. My MTX Thunder6152 amp that i had pushin the sub crapped out (low pass crossover doesnt work for some reason)

I hate the car audio bug, it bit me in the ass again and now im wasting more money :o

This is right up my alley. I have a complete "how to" on the kicks I made for my 200SX on my site, please, check it out and let me know what you think!

BTW, the focal setup should be sweet, I'm running Dynaudio right now, and have been toying with the notion of switching to the Focal's.

ya, mine comes and goes, but I am trying to stay away, every time I go to get something or talk to david@earmark (no longer there) I end up buying something, without him trying to sell me something. ya, dynes would be nice in the kicks, but I really do like my boston pros in the doors with my rockford punch 160 bridged to them and a jl 10 inch free air w/ a little mtx amp on that and I have a clarion drx 9675 :)

Well since your on the topic of car audio:
Im looking to get some subs, or maybe just one. Right now I have a kenwood 45x4 CD player, Pioneer 3 way 6x8's in the back and pioneer 6.5 inch 2 ways in the front. What kind of sub should I get? Im not looking for a ton of bass, and I would like it to sound clean. I would prefer not to spend alot. I was thinking maybe one banbpass sub. What kind of amp do I need? Any suggestions on subs and amps? I prefer to buy it from circiut city *** i can get a discount.

I just bought parker's Lanzar 1200D amp tonight and installed it.. OMG that thing POUNDS! I have a JL Audio 12w3 sub and definently recommend this combo. That Amp provides some serious power and stays cool to the touch.

The most important part is your box design. I had a box custom made for me by earmark. It was a little pricey but I feel that it was worth it. I tried a cheap pre-fab box and thought it sounded like crap so returned it & had them custom make me one.

MPG9999: the best way to find what u like is shop around and listen to different subs/amps at the stores. Everybody has difference of opinion when it comes to audio, find what YOU like best.

From Circuit City, I would recommend any of their MTX stuff (amps & subs)

circut city also sells alpine, another good brand, but for the money you can get better stuff imho

When I finally saw this thread, I was going to say to check out wes's site, but he has already chimed in. He has some good write ups of making fiberglass kick panels. Check them out.

I just saw your write up about the custom kick panels. Those are very impressive Wes! I don't think i have the skills or the patience to even attempt a project like that. Have you ever thought about making these for sale? I'd love to buy some kick panels from you :D

Yes I have thought about making them, and selling them, but I have not found anyone serious enough that is interested in buying them. As you can see by the article the job is not small! It's not terribly difficult, but it is time consuming. I did give a person (kid) a price quote once, and well, he was all interested until he heard the price. I probably wouldn't be much cheaper then a custom shop, but if your serious, and are willing to wait a bit, I might consider making a set.

Seriously thought, if you have a garage and some patience, the job just takes time and patience, it's not terribly hard!

As for the audio bug, it's never left me. I bought the car so I could install a nice system in it and had no intentions of performance. Once the system was pourchased, I had to find something else to drop $$$ on. Anyway, here's a system run down!
