: HOW TO: P11/B15 transmission swap into a B13/B14/P10
Justin 12-07-2004, 01:38 PM I don't think those Excel figures are correct. :squint:
I know the stock gauges aren't too accurate....but it can't be off by almost 10 MPH.
In 5th gear @ 3K RPMs...my speed on my tach indicates 60 MPH :squint:
I think that they might be. With stock wheels with 205-50-15 tires, I see right around 70 @ 3krpms. His chart says 66mph. Stock gauges arent very accurate, as you said. Only way to tell 100% is to get a gps.
FastNX 12-08-2004, 07:44 PM So you do not use the neutral switch or the reverse switch at all?
CowboyDren 12-23-2004, 03:22 PM Just so y'all know, AutoZone sells a three-piece kit with the hex drives for the B15/P11 transmission drain and fill plugs; about $8.
As far as 72 MPH in second gear with a 7800 RPM redline; I've done that math before, and it's correct. B15s have pretty tall tires.
LanceSR20 12-24-2004, 04:38 PM this sounds pretty close to me... with the difference between all the different tire/wheel combinations that are being used... accuracy shouldnt be that big of a concern. the chart though isnt that far from being correct after doing the math... good job.
Rockwood 12-26-2004, 08:36 PM i didnt know the earlier P10s had a longer final drive...
of course, that would explain why i had to swap out the output shaft diff gear to use P10 gears on my SE-R.

I found this out the hard way when trying to put a 92 P10 gear stack into my SE-R trans using my SE-R LSD and final drive.
Az99G20t 12-27-2004, 01:17 AM myprojectb13, do you by chance still have the tranny mount for the P11?? If so, I would be interested in buying it since I am swapping a from auto to manual....let me know.
Mike

daveracer 01-11-2005, 11:17 AM So did anyone figure out how to deal with the reverse and neutral position sensors??
Bull GTi 01-11-2005, 04:42 PM Does anyone know if the NISMO diff. will fit into this baby?
I bloody well hope so!
Cheers
Dave
mr.sentra_specv 01-11-2005, 09:51 PM the switches can be rewired all they are is a pos and neg wire (my way of explaining) so just hook em up i dont think it matters the colors to much. did in my b13 and the tranny nutral switch and backup switch work fine.

Nobody's had the balls to try yet. Did the RS5F70 come in any non-US cars?
CowboyDren 01-19-2005, 01:59 PM Just tell him to look at the seals. One should be much larger (2X) than the other. If they are the same size it's an open diff. Also he can look for the LSD hump as noticed in the above pic, but that's hard to tell unless you know what your looking for.
Which hump is that, Joel? Which picture?
Specialist-V 01-21-2005, 08:28 AM Do you have any extra pics of the install preferebly the grinding
of the tranny.

myprojectB13,
I do not know if you actually checked this but...
are the Drain/Fill plugs interchangeable between the two trannies? Thas is, are their dimensions identical or very close and the thread identical so one could use the P11 ones on a B13 tranny?
Chris

What precisely is RS5F70?
Nevermind.
Tomcat5678 01-22-2005, 12:08 AM I may have missed this but does anybody know if the B15 axles from this SR transmission are any stronger than our B13/B14 axles?

That's good and I'd like to know that answer myself.

Not sure about the drain plugs but I do know that the reverse and nuetral switchs are different between the B15 & B13/B14 trannys

Hit me with a E Mail at

I'll check tomorrow. They look to be the same size but the threads could be different. Personally I would much rather use the B15/P11 plugs because they are hex heads instead of the square plug. These will be much harder to strip out. The only downside is you have to find a 14mm allen somewhere, which I was told Autozone carries a set with the 14mm.
