when i let off the clutch it sounds like the disc is slapping back and forth and their are pieces flying around in the bellhousing. the sound goes away when push in the clutch. the sound is even worse when i have the car in gear idling along, or at a low speed not accelerating nor decelerating, just crusing at like 15mph.

is it just the tob? or is it somthing else?

i have a clutchnet type 1pp with copper/fiber disc. it sounds kinda like springs came out of the hub and the disc is hitting back and forth against the studs( if that makes sense)

any suggestions? tia. will.

Mm.. i think alot of people have problems with clutchnet sprung hubs, with the springs coming loose and rattling like crazy.

i may have that problem, or it could be your throw out bearing

The spring pockets are worn out/broken and the springs are rattling. My clutchnet disc did the same thing.

If it's the throwout bearing or the clutch the tranny had to be dropped either way. Good Luck.

I had this problem before with my ACT Set up. Thing was I overtorque some of the pressure plate bolts and 2 of them came off and the disc had some rattleling going on so I decided to send it to ACT for them to check/test and they said it was fine and usable just that the springs got a bit lose from not having all the bolts on the pressure plate. Take a day off to put tranny down to see if everything is fine don't wait until it's too late and things get worse.

the car is not my primary vehicle, so im not depending on it for work or anything.

ill probably start dropping the tranny tomarrow, but ill probably get lazy and not finish it.

will, let me know what you find. my se-r does the same thing with a jwt clutch setup. i know i am going to have to drop the tranny to find out what is going on, but since i have another car i am gonna wait till i do the motor too. just to let you know will, i had the noise start happening a few months ago and now clutch will not fully disengage. i think the guy who did the motor/ clutch last time didn't do something right, since i have found everything from a handtight axle nut to a missing crossmember bolt. talk about a hack who worked for some dealership.

mine is really annoying and i have read up and found out that many clutch net owners have similar problems, i did replace the throwout bearing with a brand new nissan one, but it still makes funky noises, mines also makes a funky noise when i have to slip it out, that is why i try not to do that, and just jump off the clutch steadily instead.

The throw out bearing does not make that sound! With the clutch pedal NOT depressed, the throwout bearing does not spin so it cant make noise. This isolates the problem to either disc or transmission problems.
