 Yesterday while I was at church, my NX got broken into. They stole my deck, front tweets, rear speakers, amp, and sub. Plus my alarm was ripped out of the kick panel. I guess they couldn't turn it off cause my switch was broken. Maybe it scared them off or they might have taken my car but it does seem like they were just after my stereo stuff. Didn't take any CDs or other stuff in my car. They got in by sticking a screw driver in the passenger side door. So now I gotta get it fixed at a body shop!!! Well at least nows a good time to put on my wing. Is there no way to protect your car?????

Sorry to hear that man, the same exact thing happened to me a few months ago and I too lost my sound system ONLY. I guess the Nx is easy to break into because I didnt find any sign of a forced entry. But, I wasn't too upset because State Farm gave me a nice compensation :) so I hope you get something worth your loss or maybe even a little extra wouldn't hurt either ;).
Good Luck,
Nick

a friend of mine has this shit sony cassette / radio (it is about 7 years old) that is not hooked up and underneath the radio in the little storage area he has a kick ass CD/radio with a custom made door to hide it when he is not in the car. No self respecting thief would take his shit sony.

Hey, about how much do you think I can get back? I know our insurances are different but was it easy for you to get compensated for stereo equipment? I have AAA full coverage so I should get some compensation. Also, do I need to go searching for receipts?

Thanks

Another sad part is I took the face off the stereo. So they have the deck but no face!!! Any one know anything about the panasonic 601 deck? Aren't new decks coded with the faceplate? Anyways, it looks like they had the keys to remove the deck cause there's no sign of a screwdriver to remove it and the sleeve is still in the car. I'll take picture when I get a chance.

the nx are extremely easy to break into, a coat hanger and 30 seconds and I can get into mine not hard at all, I don't know this from breaking into anyone else cars just mine, I tend to for get my keys in it when I lock the door.

Actually even easier than that is pulling the window out, sticking your arm in and unlocking the door. I locked my keys in my car twice.

They broke my drivers side window and took my stereo and subwoofers. They did not take my amp cause it was well hidden though. But I was a dumb ass and left my removable face plate on that night!! I swear I hate theivin' ass stereo jackin assholes!!!! I would kill a fool breakin in my sh*t in a heartbeat!!!!!

To protect your NX well make sure someone very good installs your alarm (or take your time and do it yourself). The kick and directly under the dash is the first place people look for alarms.... I like to keep mine welllllllll I can't tell you or I'd have to kill you lol but seriously what good is an expensive alarm if its half assed installed? (not to be to harsh if you did do it your self but most shops do it that way to).

One trick (revealing my secrets now) - find the yellow tubing that looks like the yellow tubing for the air bags and yellow tape - hide all the alarm wires in that and run the alarm to somewhere "abnormal". (And I don't mean IN the factory air bag wires (rut ro) I mean use that yellow dress up wire loom and run your own "fake" air bag wires - hell even run empty tubing to the actual sensor and really freak em out!

Anyways sorry about your luck - my NX was broke into before I got it and I still have to fix the damage (tore the hell outta the door lock assbly's and broke the center dash piece).......

When a guy broke in my car a few years ago and tried to steal it, I ran outside with my sickle (see pic), and scared the crap out of him. He had his head in my trunk looking for tools to take apart my ignition, because he didn't bring the right sized screwdriver.

Needless to say, he did NOT succeed in stealing my car :)

One of the best places to install the alarm is way up in the dash behind the speedo assembly. It might take you a while to get back in there but heh that means that it will take them even longer to get it out. The best way to do it is to actually take the dash or gauge assembly out and then install. I don't have an alarm yet but I know that is where the PROFESSIONALS put it. I hope your luck gets better.:(

You can also put the siren in the fenderwell behind the plastic fenderwell liner. This will prevent the car theif from opening the hood and disconnecting the siren.

If I was truly lucky, the guy wouldn't have broken into my car in the first place though... ;)

Funny, I ran downstairs to pick a weapon from the workbench, like a scene out of Pulp Fiction - hedge trimmers, lawn edger, nope. Swede saw, hmmm, nope. Gun? No, because I would have gotten in worse crap then him with the laws here.

Sickle it was :)

I have a scythe too. I thought afterwards it would have been fun to glide out there like the Grim Reaper, with it over one shoulder. That might have scared him too :D

Sickle it was

I remember three years ago, I caught these guys trying to break into my garage while I was in it!
So I grabbed a 25lb weight and threw it into their rear window!:D

They haven't been back since.
