I've got the Jim Wolf POP, which is just a velocity stack (think silver donut, and you've got it) and it's loud, but not quite like a CAI. The CAI is so loud because of the piping - that metal tube bounces sound everywhere, where the stock rubber hose abssorbs it. The long tube in the cold set-up acts as a Heimholtz (?) resonator (like a pipe organ) and really wails. The good news is it's a little quieter inside the car because the filter is buried in the fender well.

I went with the HS because it was available with ceramic coating and several people (ie peeps) mentioned their PRs rusted. Didn't sound good for driving around salty Detroit. Dayem.

just by judging spaces, it looks like i might need a smaller battery to have the hotshot cai, now its as a wai
i can only be fully sure when i try, but it kinda looks like it wont
any one have measurements of their battery with a hs or pr cai?

I had to move my battery in towards the engine about an inch to get my PR CAI in. Since the battery tray is plastic, it is really easy to just grind or file the mounting holes into ovals to allow for the needed travel.
Yes, the sound is amazing! It was the first performance upgrade I installed. You will hear and feel a positive difference.

Enlarging the hole was a pain in the nuts. I went through many a Dremel bit. I eneded up drilling about 20 large holes close together in the right ouline with a sharp drill bit, then "connecting the dots" with the Dremel. That worked like a charm, but required some clean up timeon the hole...
Good Luck!
