: DET swap or turbo my DE

I have a 2001 Sentra SE

I was thinking of building a custom turbo.
Then I realised I can get all turbo parts from a DET and slap them on my low mielage DE.

When shopping for those parts I realised I cant get a DET with everything on it for 1500$ canadian.
With a price so low, I could grab that and swap the parts.

I was told, if I have a full DET engine I would be stoopid to not slap it in instead of
turboing my DE.

Now Im wondering what I should do, turbo my DE or swap for a DET.

The few issues Im worried about :

OBD-I to OBD-II
Engine bay space on my 2001 SE
A/C (I want it to work)
MotorMounts, not sure if any available yet.
...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If I had a DET engine, I would swap it in. The ECU thing might be a little hairy since you have a 2001, but I think a JWT ECU would work w/ a little rewiring...don't quote me on that though.

A lot of people who have DETs and upgrade turbo components usually sell off the DET turbo parts and injectors inc. fuel rail for cheap. Depends on what your power goals are though, you could go custom and pick out exactly what turbo you want, etc. I have heard of a turbo B15 before, but you might want to check out b15sentra.net to see if anyone knows that person.

Good luck!

Ive been on that board for a while.

The turbo B15 is a Sema car, built buy Rob Cadle, JWT and Mike Kojima, its all custom and way to much work and power, more than my goals.
