Has anyone had this problem? This happened about 4 days ago. I let my e-brake down and the light stayed on. The weather isnt cold up here in the northeast yet(It is 73 degrees today), so the thing didnt freeze on me. But I am just trying to figure out if I can fix this myself. The light has been on ever since. Thanks for your time.

Cable might be sticking somewhere. If not go into the dash and pull the light out:D :D

This may sound dumb but in my old old old 87 sentra the brake light stayed on and it turned out the brake fluid was low I filled it up and the light went off. I dont know if it works that way in the B14, never had the light stay on in one of my 14's.

ya, it is the same thing for the b14s, your pads could be worn down so low the light could be on, but I think they would have to be in pretty bad shape though.

hey mark,
this happened to me as well, my rotor was warped to tell you the truth. The pads were fine though, it might just be an indicator like the other guys said. In all honesty first check your cable, cause mine locked persay and i had to pull it , then check your back breaks out.

Hope its better

I think it might be the alternator is going bad, cause my friends and I have the same problem before and i have to change a new one. I think two light should come on, brake and i think the batttery light would stay on. That tell u the alternator is starting to go bad.

I am very sure that is the problem.

Check that out soon as possible.

Check your brake fluid, if it's low the light will be on. Also, when you're *right* on the edge of it being low, the light will flicker on under acceleration and braking, as the car pitches forward and back.

Cheers,
Chris

If only the brake light is on, then either the switch is bad or you have low fluid. If the brake and battery light are on, then its the alternator.

Thats exactly what my Classic did. Most cars have a sensor in the Master cylinder to tell you when the fluid is low. Open your hood and you will see a little sensor on the side of the master cylinder.

Thanks guys,
I ended up checking my brake fluid and it was low. It wasnt below the line so I shook it. The light went off and it hasnt come back since. I am going to put some more fluid in it over the winter while she sits. Thanks again.
