Hey, anybody who has a stock airbox, here is a way to get that great sound you get with a cone filter or a CAI, very very easily. This is so easy, it must have been put up here before, but I will put it up again.
There are 2 silencers in our intake system. There is the one right behind the MAF, you can cork that one with a 1 1/2in pvc end cap, really easy. The one that really made the sound difference to me is the one before the airbox. OK, there is a hard plastic tube coming of the front of the airbox. I just found out that under that tube is another silencer. Just yank the tube off. It does no damage and serves very little use. The air it gathers is no colder and it is more restrictive than that 2.5-3 in tube that is left. If you dont like it, just put it back on. It was so easy, and the sound is great and the car felt just a tad bit more responsive (maybe my imagination). There is no difference to the sound until you get on it, and after 3500 rpm, it sounds just amazing. Much lower, more powerful sound. This great for those of us who have a K&N, but want the sound that goes along with a cone filter. Anyway, sorry I dont have pic to show you guys, but I have no digital camera.
