: b13 sunny 4 fog bumper questions
dalvenjah 12-19-2004, 08:37 PM Question, on the four fog bumper, all four lights are fogs right? Mine were connected as 2 being turn signals, its weird that way.
other question. Does anyone else have the sunny quarter pannels? On mine the little lights on the quarter pannels are green. (always on) Is this normal?
2 inside is spot light
the corner one is small light
nite-stalker 12-19-2004, 09:07 PM the inner ones are the fogs... the outer ones are the corner/sidemarker
Serban 12-21-2004, 09:34 AM The outer ones are supposed to come on with the turn signals, like some of the older Infinitis. However you can set them up to stay on all the time with the parking lights.
hpro123 12-21-2004, 10:59 AM Guys,
where do you get all this info?
N14 Sunnys (& B13 I suppose if there are B13 bumpers like you describe) came in 2 varieties:
91-92: four lights, two on the outside = FOGS, two on the inside = HIGH BEAM DRIVING LIGHTS.

Those were on the GTiR as well.
93-95: the Sunny gets a minor "facial" lift and ends up with four lights, two on the outside = FOGS, two on the inside close to the previous = HIGH BEAM DRIVING LIGHTS.

In all cases I know of, the two outer lamps were fog lamps that were lighted by their own switch on the dash (left of the steering wheel, by the mirror switch). In all cases I know of, the two inner lamps were high-beam driving lamps and were wired to switch on as soon as the high-beam was on in the standard driving lamps.
Chris
yup.. that correct
but some people tap the in reverse way
they tap the fog lamp is tap to small light
and the inner lamp tap to normal beam light
err just one question..
how frequent time you will use high beam than normal beam

nite-stalker 12-23-2004, 09:38 AM he's just saying you dont drive with your high beams on all the time, so the inner lights will be underutilized....
coach 12-23-2004, 12:30 PM Wow, that last one is mine!!! It looks sooo pretty there. That is similar to how I wired mine. I wired the stock fog switch into the outer lights and the inners come on with the high beams.

Avshi750 12-23-2004, 03:29 PM i just wired my outside lights to the pre-existing front marker light wires, very easy snip.. snip.. crimp.. crimp.. done. the H3 inner fog/driving lights are to be connected to a stock in dash b13 fog light button.

btw the outside lights DO, very much, help with lighting the roads, mostly just off to the side where the headlights dont hit. so i would say both sets are for fog/ driving, depends on what bulb is in it.

Yes Brent, it is yours!
Since it was so nice in the thread I found it I just used the link here. ANd BTW, I do prefer your way of wiring the lights as well.... maybe if there was another switch available I would change to individually activated inners as well but it works like a charm as is...

Avshi,
the outside light do indeed help somewhat with lighting but trust me... they are fog lights and not intended for driving lights or whatever. The glass they have is designed to diffuse the beam way more than any driving light does so it is not reflected when driving in fog and this does not do any decent job of lighting the road and the sides of the car...
I have those in my Sunny and we have 2 other european cars in the family that come with driving (non-fog) lights in the exact same locations in the bumper. The difference between the Nissan fogs and the other (Renault and Alfa Romeo) non-fog lights is like night-and-day.
BTW, the greatest utility I have seen for the fog-lights (except driving in fog of course!!!) is using them when driving in the dark in unpaved roads. I switch to the "position-lights", (high AND low neam OFF) and just switch only the fogs ON. Since they are so low and they are the only lighting source, they "hit" the road almost parallel to the ground and make every single ripple, hole, uneveness on the road look like the grand canyon!!! Very helpfull.

NJse-r 12-24-2004, 03:19 PM I wired a relay to the side marker lights on my car to activate the inner sunny lights. So as soon as i turn on the parking lights the inner lights turn on, so they are always on...low beam or high beam. Then i used my stock se-r fog light switch to turn on the outer lights (fogs). I did this because i wanted the inner lights to be on all the time. Also i can drive around with just the inner lights on (no headlights) if i turn on my parking lights. I do this sometimes at dusk or dawn for style points.

You can find a lot of answers on this forum if you just look around. Hell, I even made that thread a sticky so you wouldn't have to search for it.
