Direct me. I want a 6 disc changer or better than can fit under the seat
And a headunit to match. Kenwood is my new choice. I have two Kenwood Amps that are old but rock! (744 and 823). Nothing fancy, as I do not like 1000 features that I do not use.

yea, you should just buy a regular CDstereo headunit and wire it to accept auxilary and hook up an MP3 player. for better control though (if you dont have an ipod or if your new unit doesnt support controlling the mp3 player on the headunit itself..) i'd just go with an MP3/CD player. you can shuffle through all mp3s on that disc or shuffle only one group, or repeat all or repeat one group etc. you get the idea...
Yup, your original CDs can remain unscratched and safe at home. If you're an SQ freak, make sure you rip CDs at a high bit rate. If you're playing off stock speakers then you can compress and cram a lot of music on a CD.
I also agree with a MP3 route, either MP3 cd player or an IPOD (or some kind of mp3 player).
Size depends on how much music you want and your budget. You could fit 6 albums on to one MP3 CD with decent compression. Most MP3 cd players should have AUX input so you can go either way. Good luck!
If you're going to go with an actual MP3 player (not talking about MP3CDs). Stick with Ipod only. I wouldn't give up my Ipod to Alpine converter for anything. Practically seamless integration (woud be even better if I had a newer Alpine unit).
Although I haven't had personal experience with it, I've heard that the Alpine adaptor is really difficult to use on the headunit. People say its not user friendly and doesn't have much functionality for the price.
i may have an eclipse 6-disc in-dash player going up for sale soon, the one with the tuner box that goes under the seat, also with an eclipse 40x4rms amp. everything 8.5-9/10 for condition. is this something that interests you?
