Used to be shops, including mine when I did that, swore by Interstates. Many still do. But the recent Consumer Reports test showed that for the Type 35 that fits many Asian cars, Autozone's Duralast was the pick at 60 clams. Walmart's Everstart for 20bux less was the next best choice. The Interstates were down the list.

I really like the Duralast thats in my Maxima. Funny, Duralast semi-metallic brakes work real well in the Maxima as well. I also love the Zones warranty.

Costco - their batteries are made by Interstate, have a 100 month warranty, I think the first 3 years are 100% covered, then they prorate it. I can't remember the exact cost but it was way less than the cheapest DieHard.

The Everstart batteries from Wal-Mart are great for the money Ian. I've been using them in various cars since '94. Consumer Reports always rates them well.

This is my friends store. He sells alot of these, and we stand by them. May be more costly than a "normal" battery, but much lighter and stronger.

Westco batteries are sweet if you are ever looking again. I tried posting but it messed up somehow. They have an SVR line for car audio that are lighter than optima and have a great reserve and cranking rating.

I think that one weighs 14lbs. I'd imagine he'd ship one to canada but you'd be better off emailing him and asking him. I always seem to forget about stuff like that when I'm hanging out with him. They'll do just fine in winter.
