a/f meter going nuts

well, i guess i put it on the wrong one, there is no way in hell im putting it right on my ecm.. piss on that. which wire on the 3 heated o2 sensor is the signal? isn't it the middle wire? *** it just goes nuts, the lights flash and go away, they only peak when u gas it, they never even out.. etc.. ive seen it on other cars work correctly.. just kill me *** im wrong :|

you didnt get a wide band a/f meter. you got a volt meter. thats what stock o2 sensors do, their voltage waves around and the ecu decodes this. a wide band will give you a steady readable voltage.

i have a wideband, an LC1 hooked up to my laptop, i know what widebands are. :|

hehe, my bad. im just used to hearing so many people buy an autometer from autozone and get pissed off when it wanders back and forth.

any who, is it brand new? think its possible that the sensor its self has gone bad at all? if youve done anything with the exhaust lately you may have gotten alittle rtv on it.

nah i don't get crap from autozone. i just have the gauge - the LC1 is in the laptop but it's such a pain to look at it all the time, especially driving normally, optimally it's all just for track use when i'm on the spray - etc. the gauge is new, but i don't know if i got it on the right wire or whatever. it never peaks unless u floor it i guess, but it jumps too much - the sensor was replaced with an oem a while ago, and no, nothing was done to it lately.
