Dash Light's Wont Work :(

When I first bought the car, the dash lights would occasionally turn on when I would shut my door. But now they wont turn on at all, so at night im forced to roll in stealth mode. I cannot see how fast im going nor watch my water temp ect... My e-brake, battery, bright lights all work but no speedo or rpm... Now, I have checked all the fuses, checked the bulbs, and made sure all the bulb connections were getting power. Everything turned out good(I changed my bulbs they were all burnt out.) Can someone please tell me anything else to check? Or throw me an idea? I heard someone say to check the switch on my steering wheel where I turn on my lights? Thanks guys...
