Head Unit Problem

Soooo i gotta Pioneer Flip Screen DVD and resently, after being on for a bit, itll sometimes distort the highs and like you wont hear them then sometimes the head unit shuts off entirely, sometimes when i accelerate it'll come back on or i jiggle it around a little bit. Ive slid it out and checked all the wires and they seem to be all connected fine, even the ones on the amp n speakers. My guess is that maybe not enough power is going to them? [i also have a 1 Farad Capacitor as well] But i checked my voltage gauge and sometimes it will still work even when im gettin the same amt of voltage when some of the times it shuts off. I did have a theory about maybe since the wires are so cramped behind my head unit, that that might be the problem, the wires/head unit gettin to hot??? Hope this wasnt to confusing, i have a B14. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? It just started doin it like the beginnin of April....think maybe if i used a different amp for my highs that would help, but if its a power issue, would that make it worse? I know the alternator is fine *** the car is obviously still running and recharging, but maybe the battery is going bad and not recharging completely? Any ideas would help, ill test out just about anything *** this is driving me nuts, THANKS

If it comes back on after jiggling it or it shuts down completely, it is something with the wires. Are they soldered in place? They must be tight, and did you use a harness adapter to install the aftermarket unit?

Nothing is soldered [*** i should double check to be sure, i know the Remote wire u had to cut and twist together, which i retwisted together and made sure it was tight], and the harness it came with just plugged into the current harness i had [from a previous Pioneer head unit] Its like, it seems like the head unit isnt gettin enough power [*** i can see the lights of the buttons dim, but not just on bass so thats why im assuming its a wire prob *** my car voltage seems to be normal power] but when i stick my hand underneath it and slighty put pressure on it, it seems to come back on fully [like i said sometimes it will chop off the highs, and sometimes if i dont do something the head unit goes off completely]. Can i rull out heat as an issue? The Brain for the headunit is back with all those wires where it prob gets hot, ill throw up a picture tomorrow and let u see what im talkin about

To add to the confusion, so when the sound started to get chop and cut out i did a test I turned the Fans of my heat to full blast on and off and everytime i did it the sound would completely cut out then come back then id turn it off and full blast again and the sound would turn off again and come back [but head unit didnt turn off, but the sound disappeared for like a second everytime i turned the fan on full blast], i just cant put my finger on what could be the issue

Manually ground the H/U. See if that clears it up. Make sure the location is on the car's actual body and not the metal in the center dash(it's a piss poor ground).

actually i figured it out, my Antenna is lose, so i pulled on it a little and tried to keep it from being able to wiggle [by a ghetto rigged way to test it] and it doesnt shut off or distort anymore....which brings me to an easier to answer other question, the only way to tighten the antenna is to take the fender off and do it??
