speakers all cutting out

alpine mrp-f450 amp
polk db675 (rear)
polk db6500 (front)
alpine cda-9883 headunit

everything worked fine for the first couple of weeks i had the system but now it cuts out more and more. all of my speakers randomly stop working all at once at random times. the amp still has power and so does the headunit. any ideas what could be causing this? could it be a bad ground on the amp?

when I had that problem it was the amp not getting enough ground. check to make sure it's on tight

Sounds like a ground problem, although it could also be either remote/12V too, so check all those. Did you do the install yourself? or did you have it done?

did it myself. i have a p10, got any good ideas for a better grounding spot?

under the back seat behind a bolt that holds a seat belt in. i scraped off the paint and cleaned the surface where the ground cable was touching metal. the cable was only 3 feet long so i couldnt find a better place. could this be what is causing it to keep cutting out and the amp to lose power?

could be. try to find a closer ground, somewhere within the trunk, the latch, for instance.

well the amp is mounted on the back of my back seat so the ground is only 1.5 or 2 feet away. the latch would be much further.

You could try putting a backcap or a capacitor on and it will solve your problem. Amp could be overloaded as well , so that could be why it cuts out. More than likely you just need a backcap/capacitor.

found the problem. my in-line fuse in the power cable had come loose a little bit. just enough so that it wasnt providing the amp with the proper voltage.
