I got some pioneers from wally world. They are good, but no low end.

It's a car... how good can it sound?

Factory bose speakers will not work with another head unit. you have to do the whole thing.

You will need 2 pairs if you want to run components in the rear as well. A lot of people just run components up front and coaxials in the rear.

When you order equipment from Crutchfield they usually include speaker harness kits, mounting plates (which I have never used), and detailed instructions with diagrams for free. So its pretty much plug and play.

Seriously man, check out those Polks. I edited above, You buy one pair, you get the next 50% off, so about $170. Roughly. If you get the coaxials. They are SO worth it.
Those infiniti components are 50% off so they are only $99 a pair. Then with that code you will get $20 off the total order.

Polks are very nice as well. Probably better than the Infinitis.

I've gotten my MP3 player from Crutchfield and have been very pleased, so I don't mind dealing with them again

Were can I get the coaxials?

I guess coaxials are just like regular 2 or 3 way speakers. The components have a seperate woofer and tweeter with an external crossover. Here is another link:

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...t=account_name

Also, I have read that with just a good set of components up front you dont really even need speakers in the rear deck. Especially if you are powering the speakers with the head unit and not an external amp.

I tried it out the other day. I just faded all the sound to my front speakers and they sounded cleaner at high volume than when the head unit was trying to power all 4 speakers.

I know it's not that relevant, but I just want to post what I have going on so far in my system...

Pioneer DEH-6500P-$125
2 Pioneer 300watt max 6x9's-$120
4 Polk Audio db Series 4"-$170
1 Alpine Type E-$150
Q-Logic Ported/Sealed Box-$125
Pioneer 800watt Monoblock amp(for sub)-$200
Power Acoustik 500watt 2-Channel(for 6x9's)-$100
Jensen 840watt 4-Channel(for Polks)-$150
Scoche Wiring Kit-$50
Another Wiring Kit-$30
Subwoofer Kit-$15
Speaker Wire-$30
Fused Distribution Block-$10

As of now, that does it. Next thing is a cap, for sure. Then upgrading those Pioneer 6x9's to Polks. Then comes the 0/1AWG rewire, Optima Battery, and I'm done. I'm already passed most of the local guys that have said "my system is awesome" so I'm happy.

I could set you up with some Eclipse units that would sound GREAT in that car. If only you were closer I'd offer to let you hear them and make the decision for yourself.

They're mounted in stock locations...

Those are older pics though, I've since painted the grilles satin-black to tone them down a little, I don't want people to steal my stuff.

Car Audio is pretty much all I have left that I'm "allowed" to do to my cars anymore by my parents, atleast until I move out. I've spent all summer on a close to minimum wage job paying off the car, buying the audio parts, and saving for insurance.

For a 4" speaker, I'm so throughly impressed. I've since blocked all bass going to them, and since I have, they take whatever I can throw at them, with amazing clarity and volume. I used to be BIG into Pioneer, but after hearing these, I'm a Polk-Fan for life.

Also, Did you notice any difference with the dynamat? I'm contemplating it..But That's another few hundred in a project right there, If I do use it, the whole car, top to bottom, front to back, would get it. I'm just unsure of the claims.

A few months ago I got these speakers:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-czj4JJv...0&I=113KFCX170

They go for $120 on Crutchfield, but I got them from a guy on ebay for around $50 brand new. I'd check and see if there are any on ebay.

I think that's your ultimate bang for the buck speaker. The speakers rock!

Here's my post: http://www.sr20forum.com/audio-elect...they-rock.html

gl!

Ok I see now. I didn't realize these were in your volvo.

The dynamat helped some but, I only used the speaker kits which is just 1 square foot around each speaker. It got rid of some vibration and made the speakers sound tighter and a lil bit louder.

I think there are better/chaeper sound deading materials out there, especially if you are gonna do the entire car.

Alright I talked to my brother, the previous owner of the Maxima with the Bose system. He said since the Bose system comes with amplifiers on the speakers them selfs. I will need an adapter for the head unit.

The great thing is, he installed an aftermarket MP3 player on the maxima, so he has that special adapter, just soldered away some place. I will try to strip down the Maxima this weekend, grab everything I need and try to stick them into my Sentra.

If all else fails, then well I wasted some time, and will get the Infinities

Interesting. So are you gonna just take the entire Bose system from the Maxima (radio and everything) and transfer over to the SE-L?
