Hey Covert. Check out the Infitity speakers this guy is selling. These would be a good option for the rear deck. The tweeters swivel so you can direct the highs toward "the sweet spot." Plus they fit underneath the rear deck so you dont have to do any cutting.

X2 RSD's>Momo's,Reference, dbs. I've had them all. One of if not the best set under $200. The tweeter is a gem, it's not ear piercing loud but has good detail and very little harshness considering the price point. The mid is lacking a little mid-range. EQed in the 200-400hz range will solve most of that. The mid-bass is very, very pronounced. It's not the most accurate but good nontheless.

O.P. I still have a set of the older Momo set(MM6). I consider them better than the newest version. Out of the newer Polks the SRs are the only one I would consider. Theres better for the same price. If you want them PM me.

I'm the same way... I surface mounted mine... they stick out and look retarded but I have 2 screw sized holes rather than one big one. Good choice in speakers, Vadim.

As Home said, "Always give in to peer pressure?"

Let me install these, if they are good, I will suggest that you get them

I don't think I writeup would be needed... as far as I see it, it shouldn't be too complicated...

Here is how I see it:

1. Take off the door panels
2. Take of the stock components
3. Drill hole for tweeters and put the tweeters in.
4. Take the stock wires hook them up to cross-overs
5. From cross-overs connect to tweeters and new components
6. Put everythign back together...

I'm going to try to make sure mine don't look too off...

I'm sure you can handle it. Especially since you have done some other advanced electrical installs such as your LED dash and headlamps.

The write up I'm speaking of just had some good pointers. For example I think the guy drilled the tweeter holes from the back of the door panel using a hole saw drill bit so as not to damage the vinyl on the other side of the door panel, etc... you'll be fine though.

Went with polk huh. I wish i would have chimed in sooner. Im a old usac/iasca competitor. I hope they sound good for you. I just put one of the high end kenwood excelon units in my dash and was surprised how much audio has changed. I was shocked how good memphis audio sounds for the money. My classic i just bought is running 8 speakers all of the head and it sounds nice. When i get some time im going to install my big macintosh amp and put a nice 10 inch sub to round everything out. Post up some pics when you have got it all done.

Oh good point, I don't think crutchfield instructions drill from the inside out...

I will have some pics, as usual , but I don't think a writeup will be needed.

Ok I was able to get the driver side in today, but it got dark so I had to leave the door panel off and drive like that

When I first hooked everything up, and tested things, I was a bit disappointed with the sound quality, but the door was open etc. After closing the door and doing some EQ on my MP3 player, I AM TRULY AMAZED ON HOW GREAT THEY ARE!!!!

Now this is only with the driver side Tweeter and woofer, not even the passenger side in place.

I can't wait to hear how well it will sound with the right side in and new coaxels...

NismoB14SX, pm me with your paypal, so that I could get your coaxels

They are installed... at the price of my burned back... well that was my fault...

But couple hours in the sun and wola good sound finally coming out of my car!

I say they are pretty good, I still need to get rear speakers because it seems like the best sound quality is with both front and rear speakers on.

Overall, very worth it!

I will have some installation pictures as soon as I resize them etc.

Ok fine, here come the pics!

More can be found here

Now I was installing the driver side tweeter at night, and I barely made it far enough from the edge, otherwise my door would close on it and break it...
