cruise parts...Swap???

Anyone know if would be a equal swap if u take the cruise control module out of a 92 egg and put in a 93 b13??? The cruise never worked on it when I got it, now trying to swap out the module and see if that does the trick. Light comes on the switch, got to look a little further down the line...... Mike

You can swap it, but the cruise brain is in different spots on those cars. The '91 and '92 cars have it behind the driver's kick panel, and the '93+ cars have it behind the knee panel, to the right of the fuse box. Dose the light on the dash come on? Hold the set button on the steering wheel and arm the system, the light on the dash should blink. If it does, the brain is okay. It might be hold the arming button and press the set button, I can't remember which. If all of these work, I would look at either the clutch switch, the brake switch, or the stuff under the hood.

Since you are a contributor, download the FSM and go through the cruise section.

not getting the light on the dash, figured the module is the next place to look. Thanks for giving me another direction..... But if they are in different spots, are they the same size, will they bolt up right???? Mike

The harness is the same, but you will have to figure a way to bolt the other one up. I had a friend's '94 with a similar issue, and it ended up being the clutch switch backed out. There is one that adjusts the height of the clutch pedal. If this is not adjusted correct, the system thinks the clutch is pressed in, and won't set it.
