TACHometer installation problems

hey mates

i know it might now be your cup of tea but i have a 99 ga16 and it runs well the only problem with it is that it does not have a tachometer

so i bought one form equus and followed their wiring instructuioon to the letter up until the part at which it tells me to install the "tach signal wire»" to either the tach signal on the ecu or the negative side of the coil

i tried the first one and it didnt work tough i'm quite positive that i had the right wire
i then tried the second method , the negative side of coil but one problem came to my eyes quite fast is that the coil on the 99 ga16 is built into the distributor

now the problem is that i cant identify the negative side of it because it has multiple plugs and wires coming into it.

i did a search and finally tried the blue wire in the top plug but it wouldnt give a tach signal , instead it gave me a 900rpm idle a dip to zero when it hits a specific rpm other that redline and never goes above 1000rpm

i set the back switch to 4 cylinder so that not the problem, the ground is good and the lightning is good too

i got the power cablr from the tach connected to a switched 12v wire on the ignition switch

WHat's up with that?

Did I catch a 'lightning" in there? Get schematic and find the signal wire just to be safe.

Another member tries to point you in the exact direction and once again you not only don't want the help, but take offense to it? You need to lighten up a bit IMO. Asking for help and then ridiculing everyone that tries to help is a very, very bad practice. Not to mention some of your posts here could easily be infractions for personal attacks. Just chill out a bit, for the sake of all forum members.
