Elemental Designs Install 2.0

I've decided to change a couple things in my audio system. I sold my Nine.2 and 7kv.2's and replaced them with a Nine.4 to supply 65+ watts RMS to the front edi 6000's and I will bridge the rear channels to supply 150+ watts RMS to a single 9kv.2 in a .32ft^3 sealed enclosure. Of course I will run new speaker wire to the doors and I will also deaden the doors with eDead v1SEČ.

The System
Headunit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X590
Speakers: Elemental Designs edi 6000v.2
Subwoofer: Elemental Designs 9kv.2
Amplifier: Elemental Designs Nine.4
Wiring: KnuKonceptz Karma SS 16 Gauge Speaker Wire, Karma SS 4 Channel 4 Meter RCA Cable, KLM Complete 8 Gauge Amp Installation Kit
Sound Deadening: eDead v1SEČ

40' of Karma SS 16 Gauge Speaker Wire

Running speaker wire to front door. Talk about a PITA!

Time to seal up the doors. Check out those gaping holes! This is gonna be fun.

Outer door skins with eDead v1SEČ applied.

I pieced a template together with poster board and duct tape. LOL

Tracing the template onto 1/4' MDF.

Some more progress...

Panels cut out.

Test fit.

Got some Thompson's water seal to waterproof the panels.

Panels all sealed up.

Great work. I've been waiting for you to post pix. I see you used full sheets on the inside of the door. I always see write-ups recommending to cut the sheets up to make it manageable. Looks like its doable in the 12x12's.

I found it to be more manageable to make them one piece. When I was putting the template together I realized that I could make it work better and it would be more sturdy if it was all one piece. Less points to fasten with screws. Plus, all you have to do is remove 4 screws to put the panel in place and it adds rigidity to the entire structure.

Slowly but surely.... Got some more stuff done.

1/2" MDF rings sandwiched between two layers of edead.

1/4" MDF panels screwed down to seal up holes. Speakers mounted and wired up.

Haven't tried yet. It shouldn't be an issue once I remove the styrofoam that is on the door panel.

Oh I was serious about the gf comment though

Why did you choose edead over raammat or say second skin or say something like fat mat.

I've read alot of good reviews about edead on ICIXSound.COM and it was cost effective.

Nope just a .33 cubic foot sealed box. I stuffed it with polyfill to simulate a bigger box.
