NO power to radio!!

ok, so i wired in a radio in my 98 sentra..worked fine til one day i wanted to change radios, so i started to take it out (just the trim panels and pulled out the radio/pocket thing/cupholder..then realized i didnt have the wiring harness for the other radio i was going to put in..so i started putting everyhting back together, now i have NO power to radio at all..and these 2 plugs appeared out of nowhere..one is a white plastic connector with 4 wires coming out, and the other is a black connector with only one wire coming out..i never saw these connectors before this, and they are spliced into the rest of the harness..which all the other wires are connected and such..i will post pics ASAP..

HELP!!

Are you plugging the antenna back in? That's how nissan radio's ground. Most of the time that's the problem, not the power.

What he said!

Or the other issue is if you had the ignition on while putting the radio back, you could have popped the fuse, as I've done a time or two.

Did you check the fuse on the back of the radio?

Does your dome light work? I had this happen to me, and I noticed that he dome light wasn't on. So I checked the fuses and sure enough it was the fuse that had been blown.

car toys ex installer here.

even if you plug the antenna in the radio will still ground through the iso mount brackets that you use to fasten the radio to the dash mounts.

do you have a test light, this is a very simple test to check for power. the red wire coming off the after market radio is the ignition power and the yellow one is called the constant power, use a test light and connect the alligator clip to the dash mounts then test the yellow wire circuit on the back of the radio with the ignition off then turn the ignition on and test the red one. if one desn't work then you need to check the fuses including the fuse box under the hood.

and please get some butt connectors and not electrical tape.

This might be helpful if the poster is still having trouble for the past 2 years.
