Digital Cluster in B14..

Works great but obviously the speedo is way off... I read in the tech articles, but no one lists anything about a b14... I got a w11 motor... 5speed... I saw people were sayin to get the nx 1.6 mt speed sensor.. but it says that goes in the speedo. Where do I go from here to get my speed right
thanks

You need the 1.6 speedometer gear. It goes into the transmission.

If I'm reading it correctly, his signature says '96 SE-R with a W11. That would imply that he has an SR20DET.

If that IS the case, a 1.6 speed sensor won't even fit the SR transmission.

Also, the 1.6 and 2.0 gears have the same amount of teeth (32 or 36, can't remember). I know, cause I've compared and counted them myself.

What you DO need is a speed sensor from a 91-92 NX2000, which had a digital cluster. Now, an NX2000 never had a digital cluster, however, Autozone lists a speed sensor that works perfectly:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...uestid=2603158

It's the top one, or the SU4055

Buy it, install it, and your speed is dead on. Trust me, I've done the same.

The problem is the "non-digidash-speedsensors" have only half the pulses per revolution (8-9ish) than the "digidash-speedsensors" (16-18ish).

So i purchased that speed sensor.. first off the post where the gear rides on taht is 10mm the oem speed sensor is 9mm. so i got it to fit but the depth of the one is like a half inch to big. It wont sit all the way down in the tranny... do you have an oe part number i can compare it too. . It was a bitch gettin the oe one out.. the size of the sensor fts perfectly im the sr tranny just too long. What next lol?

Did you get the correct sensor? Did you compare it to the stock sensor? If you have an SR, I think you might have gotten the GA sensor. Which is indeed quite a bit longer.
