Are 6.5's possible in front?

Hey guys, I talked to my audio tech.

I listen to a lot of metal, Tool, Periphery, As I lay dying, Animals as leaders ect.

He reccomended a pair of 6.5's in the front, I know the stock b13 has 4x6's.. But he said a pair of 6.5's in the front alone with some tweeters and a 10inch unported sub should be more than enough with a kenwood head unit to give me what I want out of my system.

Basically I'm just wondering if I there is any way to safely fit 6.5's in the front of a b13, without damaging the glass in the windows or anything else!

Thanks guys!

I'm running 6.5 all around.
They fit in just fine.

The 4x6 speaker is actually mounted on a 6.5" plate that is bolted on the door.

6.5" two way in rear, 6.5" separates in front 75 watts X4. Two 12's in the trunk with 400 watts rms. It rocks!

Anyone have more than 400K on the original motor give me a shout. I'd like to here about it. Now rolling at 411K, the saga of the SR20 continues.

Sealed boxes require more power and sound like ass. Just get a nice slot port and you'll be able to create FAR more bass with FAR less power. Make sure the port faces the same direction as the speakers and point them toward the rear of the car. Trust me on this, it will save money and sound better. All the crap people spew about "sealed sounds cleaner" is bull. They are under powering their sub(s) Make sure its quility gear too. Memphis and Hifonics are both good starter brands. On a side note, did the Animals as Leaders tour come through your town? I missed it Summer Slaughter should be interesting this year too...

No it's not "bull" it's a matter of preference. I think slot port boxes tend to work better in cars where the box is totally enclosed in the trunk but for me it's just overkill in a hatch back. Been there done that with many different size woofers and many different boxes. Slot boxes are also a good bit heavier than sealed due to the extra wood it takes to build it.
But if your your looking to just flat out be as loud as possible then slot port is the way to go. $.02

Sorry, if you are looking for the best sounding system, sealed is the way to go. I've got a 10w7 in a sealed box running off an Xtant 1001dx. Old school power and it has plenty of solid tight bass. None of this crap you hear in the gansta mobiles spouting rap lines. There is a distinct difference between clean and loud.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I've had just about every kind of sub box known to man. Sealed, band pass, round ported, slot ported and now I'm back to a sealed box. Being a musician I look for a certain sound quality to hear nuances in music most people would be oblivious to.
I don't just want to hear the guitar, I want to hear the pick attack the string. I don't just want to hear the drums and cymbals, I want to hear the stick strike them.
It's not hard to make any system loud, that just takes big multiple subs and a lot of amps. But it is an art to making it sound right unless your a bass monkey or just an SPL freak. Adding my $.02.
