Battery Intermittent Problem?
The other day I went to start my car and it cranked slightly and died. I turned the ignition on and watched as the dash lights slowly faded out. Same thing with the dome light, just faded out. Then I had no power at all. Nothing but the clock would come on. So I jumped my car and it started right up. I drove it 1 mile to my house and turned it off. It drove just fine. When I went to restart it there was no power again. Just acted like battery was completely dead. So I pulled the battery and took it to Autozone where it was originally purchased. I told him the battery is right at 3 years old and he said it is only a 1 year warranty battery and probably bad. When he tested it the battery showed fine and fully charged. So I took it back and replaced my terminals and then redid the ground thinking that also might be it. After that it started up just fine. This was all about 1 week ago and I hadn't had any problems until today. I drove it to church and then when I was leaving there was no power again like the battery was completely dead. Nothing would come on except the clock. No starting whatsoever. So I tried to jump start it and couldn't succeed. I had the key turned to on and while the car was jolting back and forth all of a sudden all the dash lights came on and it started just fine like there was nothing wrong with the battery. Any thoughts on this?
