ECU wiring question (quick disconnects for piggyback ecu)

In my case the piggyback ecu is an e-manage, not that it matters. I was curious, would it be possible to use some high quality quick disconnects so that I could remove my e-manage and still be able to run the car? I just don't want to go through the trouble of cutting the wires, soldering them, and then desoldering and re-soldering if I decide I don't like the e-manage or I decide to move onto something else. Any input is appreciated.

Re: ECU wiring question (piggyback ecu related)

There are only two wires on the main harness that require a cut and solder. The rest are simple taps for the emanage to pull information. For the taps use some nice vampire connects (they clamp on the wire and have a female spade on the other end for a male spade to slide into). For the splices, you have to solder to get the absolute best connection as any resistance can mess up the signals to and from the emanage.

Re: ECU wiring question (piggyback ecu related)

If money isnt a problem and you want a good connection use "Hypertac" connectors, low insertion force, low resistance, high vibration resistance. use google to track down a local supplier cos I think RS components is a bit far from you.
