you can run a relay and not worry about the increased current draw. Once the parking lights are turned on the 12 volt signal will tell the relay to turn the foglights on. Relays are about $5

i guess u can call it a mod, ive been doin this ever since ive been driving (27 now) . except i run them with ignition, that way i have "stealth" mode too. nothing but fog / driving lights so when the pigs get restless i can kill all the lights cept for the fogs and still see where im goin. now i know sum of you are gonna be like, "the cops can still see ya brakes" dont get it twisted, i have a switch for that too. my car LITESHO isnt known for nuthin.

You put the fog light relay wire on the parking brake wire off the switch instead of the headlight wire. SImple as that. That way, your car has to have only the parking brakes on to run the fogs.
The fog light harness is on its own seperate relay and power for all of your information. No other fuse or larger fuse should be necessary for doing this mod.

You mean parking lights??
I want to do this, I did it on my Maxima, and all we had to do for the 3rd gen max was clip 1 wire.
I notice that the fogs turn off when I hit the hi-beams on my '00 SE. Not a big deal, I had considered altering this but was wondering why Nissan set it up this way. Would there be too much current draw to have hi-beams and fogs running at the same time? I wonder.
Driving in heavy snow storms on the highway I sometimes have to turn the headlights off and run with parking lights only to see further that 2 feet in front of me. It would be nice to run fogs in this case to throw a bit more light but not have it bounce back. Isn't that the REAL purpose of fog lights anyway?
LOL, I drive my big ass Pathfinder with twin Hella 500's up front and pierce through the snow. I can't imagine driving my FWD sentra in the winter! I tried one weekend, and slid to the side of the road twice and I never attempted again.

Got me some kickin' snow tires on winter wheels and LSD. Michigan rally season! Haven't lost control yet, the stock Firehawk tires are suicide in the snow.
