2.5'' mounting depth

will a speaker with a 2.5'' mounting dedpth fit in the front doors of my b14? by the way the speakers I'm think about are pioneer TS-A1780R. feedback on the mounting depth and the speakers would be appreciated.

IIRC, I don't think they'll fit without a spacer.
I think the depth in the b14's doors are 2".

i have speakers that are like 2 and 3/4inches and they fit in the 2inch deep b13 doors


a good installer can make anything fit

build a spacer and cut the excess material off of the back of the door panel, you should have enough room to fit almost anything

If I remember correctly, the probably isn't with excess material on the back of the door panel, it's with the speaker depth conflicting with the window and window track. The only way to go is to build out using spacers.

Does anyone remember how big of a spacer you can fit before you contact the door skin speaker cover?

its not, but it comes close, so you might want to trim it back a little bit for extra clearance

I used a 1/4" spacer and was fine
