I have a Pioneer amp that doesn't work. I brought it to a local audio shop to have it looked at, and they told me the power supply was bad. He also said it would cost around $60 - $70 to fix it.
Does anyone think it is worth it being fixed, or just purchase a new amp?
A reason I'm debating is because I bought the amp, subwoofer (12" fosgate), and box for a grand total of $150. I don't really want to spend much more than that, since I'm not a big stereo freak.
how many watts is it? have you looked into getting a new amp from somewhere?i got a deck amp and set of speakers from circuit city for 450 so i guess its up to you im pretty sure the amp was around 150.

Depends on what kind of amp and its power output. I dont think its worth it for a pioneer unless its a premier or something. Just by a new and BETTER one.
Is that the amp? has like 2 hours left and is at 40 bucks..and it does work lol. Does the radio place GUARANTEE it will be fixed? Or if they can't fix it you don't pay? If you don't get it fixed hit me up maybe i'll take it off your hands (I buy broken amps sometimes and ..well try and fix em lol)

I say just get a new amp. Why bother wasting $$$ trying to fix a used one?

My Kenwood 744 blew a resister, and I took it ot Kenwood in NJ and they fixed it and rechecked the whole thing for $70.00. Cheap, cause back in 1994 that same Kenwood cost me $349 on sale. Thats about $500 today and it still work. 320W 160RMS clean. 80X4. Not the loudest but damn clean.
