i was just wondering where would be a good place to put some tweeters. i've got a 96' B14 and of course it doesn't have the tweeters in the a-pillar, so i was thinking of putting them on the door. my real question is, did the 200 or sentra of that year have the housing for the tweeters or should i just go on ahead and put them on the door? any feedback would help. thanks.

I personally would put them right behind the mirrors on each door.

i have mine right in the door panels, right in front of the handles, granted, this is in a B15, so exact location is a lil different, but i love this setup. i aim the passenger side tweeter @ the driver, and the drivers side tweeter @ the passenger... it sounds weird, but the setup works VERY nicely. they're not too bright either from there
heres a so-so pic of it, you can see if from the top (pic of my car when i GUTTED it for dynamat...but you can see the tweeter from there)

I've got mine in the same place oriented in the same fashion. Works real well for me also.

The door panel approach works pretty good. I have always been a fan of mounting the tweet as close to the mid as possible to decrease seperation and localization of speakers. When I had my mids in the doors I had the tweets in the kicks angled at a opint just forward of the dome light.
if you have time to make digital art, post it here
if you have some graphix , fonts, ideas, that you don't have time to illustrate, post it here
and beeee veeeeerrrry
The only thing I'd suggest is: make sure that you keep the mid and tweeter the same distance from your ear, otherwise it's not going to sound as good. You'd almost be best off just putting it right next to the mid. You could also try mounting them on the dash and bouncing them off the glass to achieve the same distance and it'll also decrease the harshness a bit...
Haven't been on since I posted this. Thanks for all the great ideas. Now I'm gonna let this info marinate in my head. The next thing is getting the tweeters I want and then I'll try to decide where I'm gonna put them. Again, thanks.
I have mine in the door panel below where it flares out to match the gauge cluster area if that makes any sense

My friend and I decided to make mini-tweeter boxes that sat right behind the side mirrors. Unfortunatly I never got a set of tweeters to figure out how big to make the hole. I got the idea from my friends civic (blah, believe me I know).
I have my titanium tweeters hanging tight from the top of my a-pillar b/c I'm too chicken sh*t to drill a big hole in my door panel.
I'm sure the door panel would sound better, but it's actually not bad at all!
I did the same thing. It sounds ultra clear. If I had to do it again, I might put them in the door for cosmetic reasons, but I think they are very clear where they are.
The thing to remember is, dependant on where you put them and what direction you point them, you should look on crutchfield.com to see the ratings of them. Get weaker tweeters if you're going to put them up top like I did. I had to turn my treble almost all the way down on my head-unit.

I agree as well, I have mine up high in the panel near the handle, and dont like the way the sound. You want the distance between the mid and your ear and the tweet to your ear to be very close, for proper imaging and less harness from the tweeter, especially in a small environment as the cabin.
