Need help wiring CD player

I just bought my 91 SER and all the wires for the headunit are dead. I tested them with a multimeter and got 0 volts . Looks like I have to rewire it myself. I know that I need a power constant from the battery and that I need to run new speaker wire to the speakers and run a ground. Which wire should I use for the ignition? Is there anything else I need to do to get my CD player running? Thanks for the help

Re: Need help wiring CD player

CD players are easy as hell to wire. Run a constant 12v, a ground, and then tap into a accessory 12v somewhere else..like on the cig lighter. Maybe just use a relay so it doesn't try and pull to much power from the cig lighter. If ALL the wires are dead, maybe try and trace down the problem? New speaker wires..those are simple enough. Remote wire if you got a sub and that may be it. Some cars have auto-antennas, we don't though so it's no worry. Hope that helped, dunno!

There should only be two. Lick your fingers and when you feel a tickle that's the one you want!
