where to find a 8.400 ECU crystal?

went to radio shack and wasn't in any of their catalogs. Can someone help me out?

You beat me to the post - I was looking through my digikey catalog when you posted...

Only ones close to 8.400 that I found:
SE3415-ND (8.388608MHz)
SE3416-ND (8.432MHz)

Also search for 'CSX750', programmable oscillators.
You can specify what frequency you want from 1.00 - 100 MHz, 3.3V or 5V.

Not sure if these will work for this application though.

ok, just got the crystal i ordered from digikey P.N.:SE3416-ND (8.432MHz), and it appears to be the wrong thing. It is very small and circular, not oval like the stock one shown here:

the crystal u got should work. find a data sheet for it if it doesnt, cos u might need to change some resistor values on the oscillator circuit. dont worry the crystal can not damage anything unless its an actual oscillator(they have more then two pins).
