acceptable voltage drop?

I was cleaning up some grounds in my engine bay and testing things out with my pocket dvm. I tested my main ground cable to chasis and got a voltage drop of 1.7mV is that acceptable? that seems a little high to me. Is it time to look into assembling a new ground cable. btw, this is after i took a dremel to the body and the grounding tab to get them nice and shiney and coated them with anti corrosion stuff.

Also for a little more info, the battery terminal im using is from lightening audio and it is the biggest piece of trash! Its already completely corroded I would try and clean it but at this point i dont think its worth it because the threads on the allen screwn that hold it together are stripping.

How did you measure a voltage drop across a ground wire? Did you measure the resistance of the wire and do the math, or did you check the voltage across the positive and negative terminals and then check between the positive and the chassis and find that drop? 1.7mv would not be much of a voltage drop I wouldn't think. There's probably higher voltage drops than that, present in OEM wiring of a brand new car.

-.00017v is what you have. -1.7v would be bad. Millivolts ok, volts bad!

man my terminal doesnt look that bad, should get that fixed!
I did work on my battery terminal and various grounding points in the engine bay, After cleaning all the grounds and getting them all nice and shiney, they all read 0.00-0.01 mV. So i think i have taken care of the problem. Im going to clean up some more grounds tomorrow. I used my dremel to clean them off but for the engine grounds (f9) and there are another 2 over by the alternator, that will not work and i dont have any emory cloth or sanding paper at the moment. Gonna work on that next.
