At the Drive in was pretty punk/emo. Sparta is more just Rock with a punk tinge to it.
Wes has a nice warm garage with lots of tools, and a father in law that has better tools for when crap is seized on. When spent the weekend getting the b15 ready for Texas.
It's an early show so there will still be time to go do other things that night!
Plus it's an outdoor show!
Doors Open: 6pm
Show Starts: 7pm
Stage: outside
101X and Emos present: Texas' finest emocore band around, El Paso's Sparta. Though it's been awhile since they played Emos, they're finally back to bring their amazing live show to Austin. When their legendary 1st band, At the Drive-In, announced their somewhat permanent hiatus in March 2001, co-founder Jim Ward (vocals/guitar) immediately started working bandmates Paul Hinojos (guitar) and Tony Hajjar (drums) under the Sparta moniker. El Paso native and fellow Belknap bassist Matt Miller joined the band several months later. Within a year, the punk-inspired four-piece had a deal with Dreamworks. Sparta released the Austere EP in March 2002. Five months later, Sparta issued their debut full-length Wiretap Scars. The band returned two years later with the ambitious Porcelain. With them are local emocore favorites, Fire Kills and tourmates, Thieves Of Always. 6:30pm
Give me a nice lounge setting, laid back crowd devoid of the snobbery and Gucci-wearing trust fund babies, a talented local DJ playing quality house cuts... There are a few places like that here in Boston but now that I don't live in the city I rarely get out anymore. I miss my local scene.

6th Street has some awesome places like that adn the liquor is cheap compared to what we are used to in the big cities.. when down there for a wedding a couple of years ago i was drinking Makers on the rocks the whole weekend...
i'll try and remember the name of this one place.. kind of like a Vegas lounge... fish tank tables, killer Martinis, got Rat Pack pics all over... real cool vibe.. one of the best bars i've ever been to...

is there anyone else remotely interested in this? I am not an establilshed fan but they sound pretty good, and I bet their tour opener would be a good show
