Hello,
I am adding a Subaru project to my arsenal, and was hoping to get the phone number of a Subaru Dealership in New Zealand or Australia. I recently purchased a 1997 STI front clip from Japan, and would like to purchase the Service Manual for this car. They didn't sell the STI in the United States until last year, so I think N.Z. and Australia are my only hopes. If anyone could recommend a dealership, or would know where I could purchase the manual, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
Try a search on http://www.yellowpages.com.au (our most widely used busines phone directory) for subaru dealerships....I don't know of any personally myself, so I can't give you any recommendations.
Pretty sure we did have the STi in 97 so you should be able to get it somewhere within Australia.
Just so you know, whn you need to dial Aus., our international code is 61 (and you'll need to drop the zero from the area code, so if the listed number is 03-9999-9999 you will need to dial +61-3-9999-9999).
Hope this helps you.

Thank you very much for the help. As soon as I figure out the time zone differance I will be giving a dealership a call. I really appreciate you responding to the thread.
No problems.....if you're in Rochester NY, then the east coast of Australia is 15 hours ahead of you (without accounting for daylight savings time...do you guys have that!?). This post was made at about 9:15PM Aus eastern time, so you should be able to work out the difference from that anyways.
Try to get a Sydney or Melbourne based dealer (both east coast), as your shipping cost would probably be lower as these are our two major ports.
Great advice.... I just learned today that the company sold me a Nissan Skyline driveshaft.... so now I also need the complete drive shaft as well.... Are you aware of any Junk/Salvage yards that might be able to help? I REALLY appreciate all of the information thus far--- YOu have been a huge help....
So they sold you a Skyline driveshaft with the front cut? That sucks....
Not sure about junk yards (we call them wreckers) - you could try the yellowpages directory for that one too - probably be listed as "automotive recyclers" or something like that, but trying to get STi parts wouldn't be easy, and you may make more calls than it is worth. Are the STi drive shafts different to normal WRX ones?
A good source of info for you might be http://wrx.notahat.com/forum/, they have about 3000 members so there should be some knowledgeable guys there.....may even be a shot for you on the service manual.
One of the PGA membes who left to start his own Subaru Forester Forum has the entire Subaru workshop manual range on disk. He paid the US Subaru company an amount for something like 50 hours of access. He then set his download manager onto their site and leeched like mad. If you still need help, I can see if he can get in contact with you.
cheers
Mark.

It would be very helpful if I could get a copy of the manual on CD--- I really only need the subaru impreza 1997 STI Version 3 information, and would gladly pay (or return the favor). If you wouldn't mind speaking with the gentleman it would be much appreciated. You guys are great.... Thanks again.
