Jeff's car (team Buckfang) from the previous TimeAttack was entered but they had serious problems with their tranny. For some reason the PAR gearset(s) they were trying to use kept bombing and they were never in the competition.

I think their are like 4 clear pics of me in that article for some reason. One me driving a cart, I think I ended up in third or something behind josh, one of me in a cart suit, one of me tieing down a car on our trailer, one of me going down the drag strip. I have no idea why I was in so many pictures, I was mostly just in the background.

I see Kit Wetzler, Tony Guardado, Annie Sam and Chuck Johnson in some of the pics as well in the background.

Tony was driving the B13 Cup Car and Annie the NX2000 Cup car.

How did we do?

I was third in the carts, none of our other nissan drivers did that well and were mid pack at best. They didnt have cart experiance and I don't really have much either. My excuse I out weighed the 1 and 2 position guys by 40 lbs.

Tony didnt drive well on the drag strip and got eliminated early, was running mid 15's in a low 14 car, granted he doent ever dragrace and was spinning for hundereds of feet. Annie qualifed 8th and went to the final 4 and was runner up in quick R/T against much faster cars. I qualifed 16th and redlit in the first round, duh. My R/T's were really fast all day.

The track event sucked, the SCCA was running it and it was a mess. They didnt allow passing and put all abilties on the track at once making it nearly impossible to get a good lap in. I thought I was a shoe-in to win or at least be right in there but I had brainfade and spun going half speed trying to space myself out so I could turn a fast lap. I was looking in my rear view mirror to see how much I could slow down and nearly drove off the track, correcting made me do a snap spin in a real bad spot and I crashed. This messed up my car pretty good and I didnt get it in running condition utill it was too late for timed runs. The SCCA's idea of safety actualy made it more dangerous as there was a mix of pathticaly slow and fast cars all trying to make a good lap. These stupid rules were the reason I crashed. A lot of people with fast street car can bairly drive, I was litteraly at 1/4 throttle behind some people.

I think Annie ended up 6th and Tony was mid pack somewhere. He never drove that configuration of Buttonwillow and didnt drive well.

So none of use ended up doing that well overall except for Annie.

Due to budjet cuts, their were no addtional photographers so Josh and Jared were taking pictures between their turns at driving, probably why there were so many snapshots of me. If their were photographers their could have been some spectacular photos like the dog car and project 350z drifting around some turns together, project evo putting the hurt on a Z06 and project Z, project EVO, Mike Menhert's Z, the FC race car, Steve Mitchells GTR and the Dog Car putting the hurt on most things in general.

The SCCA cearly doent have experiance with running hot lapping events safely. The bunching of different skill levels, the no passing rule, being forced to sit in class sessions and listen to some guy pontificate on driving when you are an advanced driver (this is ok for beginners), having lots of lame lead follow sessions by instructors that were probably autocrossers that were driving way off line (I mean wayyy off line although some instructors clearly knew how to drive), then getting scolded for not following the right line, lame chicanes all over the place which Steve and I knocked down, getting blacked flagged for doing smooth controled drifits in the turns. The chicanes and the bunching caused by the no passing rule created dangerous situations. The bad lead follow on the wrong lines didnt tech beginners well. Getting busted for riding my pit bike. Sucks. Reminded me of why I don't race SCCA anymore.

Basicaly, the next time, NASA should run the show. I am going to try to make sure of that.

it seems that a lot of people are stepping away from drag and going to the road race, autocross i think that the ser will have a edge in this catagorie.
