Recently I started crewing with Dave (dgerryts) for Armstrong Motorsport - Bob, his wife Cindy and his daughter Jennifer race two pre-production NX2000 race cars: the #33 car is a GTi-R turbo car, and the #44 is NA. Dave and Glenn are both Master Mechanics at Kingston Nissan; a sponsor of the cars. They've built and tweaked the cars extensively, as well as crew for them.
Pics are from Shannonville and Mosport, sourced from the teutonic.ca forum. Next race is in two weeks at Mosport, can't wait!
#33 in the lead, followed closely by that evil Porsche

Not an SR20 pic, although there are Nissans in it! It shows some of the nice elevation changes at Mosport.
One of the competition. Not faster than the turbo NX2000 though!
Triplets!
Just realized there aren't any close pics of the #44 car! I'll have to bring a camera along next time
I've driven both Shannonville and Mosport. Extremely fun tracks. Mosport in the rain is pretty scary though. I just loved T2 and the downhill after the Continental sign.
I drove Shannoville in the pouring rain with my 350Z Track model. I used it as training ground to see how the car handled without traction control in wet conditions at high speed. I was very impressed. I can only guess at how much of blast it would be to drive a turbo NX on those tracks.
Damn, that would be fun!

Some pics of the second car, from Mosport last weekend:
Sweet, sweet Gti-R engine in #33:
Interior of #33:
Kind of a cool shot of 3 generations of Z-cars. In the background is the Ferrari Grand Prix team's trailer for next week's American Grand Prix at Mosport. Right hand drive, the whole thing was shipped over from England! Their setup was amazing, lots of guys in identical red uniforms, with a fully-equipped shop and loud dance music being pumped in
Wow, the old girl really needs to be freshened up inside this winter. 50,000 track km has really done a number on the interior!!!!! One more thing to add to this winter's to do list.

Nothing very professional. Remove rear hatch glass.
Lay sheet of plexi over opening, trace, cut, drill, silicone or urethane, rivet, and support.(so it does,nt flap in the wind.) This is definately not streetable, (or it may be if you can keep it from leaking)
Labour Day weekend at Mosport. Hopefully, I'll be driving my own NX2000 to the races that Saturday and Sunday
Admission is $15, and I believe that's for both days. IMO it's worth it. A deal, when you consider the American Grand Prix this weekend is $150 for admission!
Mosport is a very interesting and historical track. There are lots of good viewing areas, and you can drive around the inside of the track area and view the races from different vantage points.
Interesting to watch. This last weekend, we did a rain tire change on the fly under a red flag at the grid, while our Crew Chief argued with the Marshal who wanted to disqualify us (he later realized that we were right, and he hadn't read the rulebook for this year properly). And at the end of Saturday's race, a BMW hit the concrete wall next to us at the pits, and we hit the dirt and were rained with debris.
The actual racing is gripping too!
I have more pics, but they're a bit blurry, because they're action shots, and I'm not great at tracking the cars yet. I'll post some of them later.
Come say hi and check out the cars close up if you come!
Stock gearset, pushing for the PAR. It has held aok so far this year. The GTi-R is currently underboosted at 7.5 psi just to be safe. Once we get the Fastbrakes, i'll bump the boost
Dave can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it needed to have 4 inches taken out of the middle, because the 300 is wider.
I'm not sure how hard it would be to fit to a street NX. The race car's front is tubeframed, and remember you would have to fit lights to it as well. I think fitting lights might be the hardest thing to do.
