Well if so they just got done repaveing the track everything execpt for the straits. I am very gald to hear this, and i have seen the pictures, i just forget the website they were on. Anyways friday fundays just got more fun
I've never actually raced there but I did a fun Friday there 4 months ago. You can't beat the track time you get for the money. I wore through my tires and brakes and burned 1 3/4 tank of gas after 180 miles on the track that day. I plan on going back for multiple fun Fridays whenever I have the cash this coming season.

A guy I work with won an SCCA race there and did a driver's school there. He likes it. It's not quite as nice/big as Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, but it's a place to go.

honestly though it is perfect for the sr20 fwd powered cars, because there are no real high speed turns, and no slow turns, many medium speed turns, which fwd does the best
I have been there for a number of BMW and Porche driver's schools and a few "fundays". The Porche schools are the cheapest. The schools do not offer the same amount of track time the fundays do, but are far more safe. I quite going to the fundays when the only corner worker they had was a guy standing on the bridge and counted cars as they passed. Maybe I'm just getting too old and cautious. If you happened to go off in the carousel and over the bank, you could end up in the swamp and nobody will ever find you.
The track is fun, fast, easy to learn, and has come a long way in the last couple of years. if they could only do something with those outhouses. If you go in the summer, take some insect repellant, I cannot believe that the EPA and local health departments have not made them remove all those tires with West Nile virus showing up in that area.
Turn 13 is kinda slow. I push through there everytime. I was pulling 90 going around the kink coming off of the back straight. I think thats pretty fast imho.

I remember last time I was supposed to come, but I couldn't make it because I was busy trying to get my car moving. Next year should be better and hopefully the car will be back on the road before the next time you guys gather up there.
Could you do me a favor and pm me what what city they're located in?

I was there with Matt and a bunch of East Coast buddies earlier this year for a Friday Funday. For $100, you get hella seat time. They definitely are way too lax on basically everything relating to safety & tech, but we all had a awesome time. IIRC, they just broke us up into 2 groups, and let us rip.
We went to Cedar Point Amusement park the next day, and spent the day in rollercoaster Nirvana. That place is SICK.
I'm hoping we all go back next year. It was, without a doubt, THE BEST car buddy weekend I ever had.

Half of us, including Matt rode it. It was closed for maintenace for a few hours, and I was on line with the other half of the guys, for the last ride of the day when it reopened.
Earlier in the day (the line was HUGE by the way) we spent an hour just looking at it from every available angle. It's an amazing machine.

You aren't driving it right then!! 13 is a 2nd gear corner, and if done right, the kink is a flat out top of 4th gear corner. Nelson has often been described as the fastest track east of the Mississippi river. It's a power track and we will get our clocks cleaned by the FC RX7's and E36 BMW's. Hallet is more suited to SR20's. I'm really looking forward to driving the North circuit at Beaverun.

I would like get a Fun Friday in sometime during May and June. Also, we are planning on going back again the same weekend we had the Great Lakes Bash III this year (Sept 5th). You guys should join us there for GLB IV this year.

I'm up for it...I have a track school sometime in May, but I can't wait to get out there again. Plus it'd be nice to get out there with some forum guys.
