This ? again

I know this ? has been asked a billion times but the search feature leaves me with still a few unanswered ?'s
I have a 92 Classic SE-R. Im planning on Auto-x and daily driving this car. As soon a taxes comeback I will be getting new suspension put on it. I thinking of going with KYB AGX's and GC's. This is my first SE-R and I'm not real familar with the handling characteristics. Basically what im getting to is what spring rate should I go with on the GC's. I know the typical FWD car you always want it tight in the rear, like a 300lb spring up front and a 450lb spring in the rear. But from what I understand these cars are already tight in the rear. So would a sloppy rear spring be better like maybe a 300lb up front and a 200lb in the rear. I'm trying to get this car as balanced as possible. Other things I plan on adding in the future will of course be Sus. Tech. sway bars and bushings.

I'll jump in first and strongly reccommend driving the car in stock class, or at least stock suspension first. It handles pretty darn good from the factory.

If your struts are tired, try the AGXs. They're cheap, and give you some tuning ability which can either help you or screw you up.

Then if you absolutely have to go suspension, 300/200 is generally reccommended for the B13. Any stiffer isn't really worth it, because the chassis is so flexible, and that's near the limits of the AGXs anyway.

Swaybars are a great way to speed up the transitional response of the car.

I agree with Matt, drive it on the stock suspension first. By learning to drive the car in it's stock condition you will get more our of your future suspension improvements.

If you are absolutely hell bent on doing suspension work right now do the rear sway bar first as it will give a noticeable change in the handling dynamics of the car. If/when you decide to go with Ground Control coil overs I'd highly recommend getting the camber plates too, the extra suspension travel they afford is just as big a benefit as being able to adjust camber and caster. You can get away with running 350/300 spring rates on a B13.

Matt's advice was right on. Do your modifications slowly and you'll understand the suspension better, how to drive it faster and how to tune it. You'll feel the differences and gain intuition into what you need next or what is too stiff/soft.
