You can do a basic bolt in Autopower and be legal for SCCA , as long as you use the DOM steel and 1.5" Dia. x .120" wall tubing ... As far as building one , you will have to get an SCCA rule book and see what they require and recomend ... I did an Autopower Bolt in race bar with the weld in cage kit , modified it a little and built my own door bars ....Then I will be welding it all together ... ( I have some pics on my site ) .... Basic SCCA IT rules call for a 6-8 point cage, with at least one Horizontal door bar on each door. They recomend ( and I have heard in the next year or so will require ) a NASCAR style door bars on the drivers door ...But there are lots of little things that you have to follow so a rule book will be needed ...
