Rip off by member?!?! Part 2

well the last thread http://www.sr20forum.com/buying-sell...ff-member.html got closed or something *** i cant post no more b/c people cussing at each other too much. the quick overview is that i paid $144 for a brand new ssac header from StYLez Se-R. but it never came in and its been over a month now. more then enough time. he said all this stuff about it is coming in and all but it never did. now i did a claim to get my money back and he is calling me these name about writing about this thread. next he pm to take out the claim *** it "froze" his money to refund it back. such a lier. and now he finally respond to the paypal claim saying, directly from the claim, "Buyer only paid for Parcel Post Shipping. Did not pay extra for insurance of the package and tracking from USPS. There has been more than enough time for the package to arrive" and "The buyer would not pay extra for insurance of the package or tracking information. Now he claims to not have received the package. I send 20 packages a week through the USPS and they have never failed to deliver a package". He had never offer me anything about insurance and im not a pro at selling but anyone would know to put insurance in something if the item is over $50. Not my fault he did not tell me it wont come with insurance. The claim is going to end about 7 days and from what i read, it will be in my favor so i will get my money back. hopefully. let me know what you guys think.

1st) Off When you buy something from someone online dont expect the services and quickness like u do when ordering it NEW.
2nd) you get what you paided for(haha i cant stang bite off companies)
3rd) come on now man....I Dont insure ANYTHING inless im told to by the BUYER...thats your bad...you dont order from an online website and expect it to automatically get it....think about it when u order from an online website...

im not taking sides on this one....good luck to both

man, poor guy, the one that is out money and parts has been ragged on in both threads. I feel you man, I've paid for stuff and not received it too. We came to an agreement of him refunding like 60-70% of my money back, since i did believe he was out a part too. Sometimes things do get lost in the mail. Just had a buddy send me a wrench and i never received it, I know he sent it, and i know i didn't get it. Hopefully you'll come to an agreement.

I dont see why people are all anti-insurance. It's like abuck twenty and doesnt add up that much. Plus if something did happen both people are covered. Do it for you too. Because some people are dishonest and say that they never recieved the item you sent, but your delivery confirmation says otherwise then someone was trying to screw you over. Plus insurance comes with peace of mind and a buck twenty is worth it

yeah. for $144, insurance, even at $10-$15 more is worth it, just so you don't have to go through this. From now on, I think when an item is "shipped" in a for-sale thread it should specify shipping methods.

FYI with UPS all packages are automatically insured for $100. Any value over that and it costs extra.

Don't know how USPS does it.

I told you I would have refunded the money to you like over a week ago but since paypal has a hold on my money cause you filed a claim I cant send it casue the account is negative money. I dont care what you have to say anymore at this point you are a dickhead ass buyer. Im the one getting fu*ked out of 144 dollars here. NOT YOU. Im sorry that you didnt get your header but theres ovbiously nothing I can do about it.

Good thread to point out the value of insurance.

I insure EVERYTHING, after I was told the mail people were taking the uninsured parcels and got busted at the bulk facility. (No *** to the mail people...)
EVEN $5 crap. The shipping can be recovered, as well as the item value.

It's worse when you specify it and it isn't covered by the seller.

Guys, remember, it's the seller's responsibility to follow up with ALL insurance claims!

Don't buy from a guy who doesn't see the writing on the wall.
If a buyer is not willing to file the claim for you, your still out of luck and have to fight with Paypal.

The insurance should be insisted upon by any competent seller, along with signature verification and tracking. It's our reputation on the line.

If you don't use insurance, you are asking for big problems.
Sucks just the same.

I think insurance is the key to a succesful transaction and I know of 2 examples personally where lack of insurance cost shippers big money.

- I bought a Stromung catback several years ago from a forum member. He shipped it in 2 boxes without insurance, 1 box got lost by fedex and it cost him several hundred to buy me a new center section from Mossy.

- A forum member who is one of my best friends shipped a HS gen 6 header without insurance via DHL and it got lost. It was a big to do here and he ended up refunding the money, took a loss as he was out the money and the header.

Bottom line people is this - buy the insurance as the shipper to protect YOURSELF.

The ironic thing is that in spite of all the examples and warnings given by by numerous people in these types of threads, there will be people who still think insurance isn't worth the extra couple of dollars. And they will eventually get burned by their cheapness.

He did his part by shipping it out.

When you buy soemthing from ebay its YOUR option to tell the seller you want insurance, its definetly NOT included, its a cost the seller shouldnt deal with.

So not that I am gonna take sides here but.....Don't we think this has been talked about enough? You say he screwed you. He says he didn't. We all get the point. Insurance on shipping rules. No insurance is stupid. You 2 need to keep the rest of this between you. I know I have a choice to read or not read posts but I try to read all of them so that hopefully I can gain info that is positive and may help me learn about my car.
I don't need a play by play of the action between you guys. Also, if the last thread got locked that probably means the Admin was tired of hearing about it too. Keep it between you guys and good luck to both of you.
