I have strongly debated actually leaving negative feedback on this guy; don't know if it will do much good.
He did a nice job building the car and I drove from DC to FLA to buy it. He went out of his way to mention a few things that were "working 100%". Unfortunately those are the things that have/are malfunctioning. Most significantly, 5th gear pop out. It has a SR16VE tranny, Him and his boy were both adamant that it didn't have pop out (and it didn’t the day I drove it around Orlando and bought it) but by the time I got to Georgia (less than 300 miles) it started. I confronted him about it and he was a prick. "Sorry man, you bought it and that’s final. No refunds". I tried to reason with him; all I wanted was for him to pay for a used SR20DE trans. I even offered to GIVE him back the SR16VE trans if he paid for a sr20 but he refused. After further talks I even agreed to accept a refurbished NX front bumper as restitution. That was over a week and a half ago and he still has not sent the bumper nor will he answer calls, emails, txts, etc....
In his defense: the AC was not working the day I bought the car and he did give me another compressor. I have not installed it yet so I don't know if it works.

One thing I forgot to mention, the 5th gear pop out is so bad that the gear is not even useable. When it is engaged in 5th gear it will pop out as soon as any throttle is applied. Attempting to keep it in 5th by holding the knob in place does nothing.
I haven't driven the car in over a week because I always have to use the highway to get wherever I am going.

I sold him a car on Saturaday about 2pm, When he Test drove it before he baught it i advised him the AC was not charged and needs to be charged to work, ive not used the AC in over 3-4 months due to it being winter time and not needing it.. He knew the cost of the car and drove down gave me a story about his dog or something so id drop the price $200. He did not take no for a answer and insisted so i said id drop it $100.
then he asked if i would sell my sub that he has a Extra $100 nice....
now i said no he would not take no for a answer until i told him theres no way that he can drive back with no car.
He took the car to Firestone they charged it and he said the compressor was makeing a noise so i said id give him another one ( not a big deal ) this guy calls me at 11pm when im sleeping then at 7am so now im not to happy about this due to helping a friend move all day sat and sun so i was like forget it ill just ship it i donot want to be around this guy hes bothering me. so the guy just shows up at my house uninvited i might say. i gave him the compressor there and signed a Trip permet for him. then went about helping a friend move..
i got a call monday on the way to the beach for memoral day and he was talking around and about and i finnaly said im on the way to the beach what do you need, he said well i got 5th gear pop out in the VE tranny and this is what i want to do, ill give u back this tranny if you give me $300 now keep in mind who knows what this guys been doing in this car and to get 5th gear pop out on a 1.6 N1 VE Tranny is hard to do its not a regualr b13 tranny. i told him i cant do that then he said im not a kid kyle im trying to be open about this i repeated this car was sold as is, im sorry if anything happen and i let him know if he was local i might have done something even thoe its not the norm but he drove all about sat and sunday then got past alanta george from Orlando Florda.
Note: this is where it gets intresting he said dont forget i know where you live, now ( SE200 ) on this forum was listening to this when he was on speaker phone and as well as 2 other people in the car. I asked him what does that mean? and he replyed you know nothing about me, i know alot about u like where you live and what you drive, i advised this guy i was calling the police for which i did and i filed a Report with them a ( tim rhudy ) so that if anything does happen to me then he would be looked at first. the guy later Texted message me saying ur " "mom lives with you, it would be bad if anything happen to her" WTF
so 2 days later he sent me another Text Message saying "your going to man up or else", i said " no all sales are final" i let him know i called the police then he said i wouldent come all the way down there just for that he said ill take you to court, its my belef that you had intent to sell me car with a bad tranny, so i was like funk it whatever ill just send him this lip so he would leave me alone then i thought about it and if i give in to him like i did with the $100 he will just keep comeing after me so i said take me to court
remember when you signed the Bill of sale you put as ur taxes $400 for paying for the car so do what you want, i have so much postive feedback it would not even make a difference especially sence you threaten me my mom and where i live. ur a real peice of work and i hope nothing but the best of you in life, i just wish i never sold you that car. i know alot of people on this fourm who have driven this car or know me when it comes to my cars and how well there built.

CONES - sorry to say but you bought the car "as-is". If you didn't find the tranny issue before you signed for the car, then it's your issue to work out... that's how it works. Just some of the risks you take when buying used.
FWIW, once a car has 5th gear pop-out, its got it... it doesn't just work some times and not others.

if he lived down the street i would help him out somehow especially if he was a nice person to me but he handled poorly so i was advised to cut all strings by the Orlando Police Dept so right now im following what they told me to do.
I am not picking any sides,but I can see both sides of this.
On one hand...I have dealt with specalk on several occasions,with good results.He has given me free parts before.He has put together a few nice rides...I have seen the transformation of that nx...in fact, I may have supplied some parts for it,LOL.I know thw car is not a POS thats for sure.
Onthe other hand..
I have also just recently bought a NX that has popout....I asked the guy about fifth,and he specifically said no.I drove it around(was in a congested area.)It was my fault for not trying 5th,but 1-4 were very tight feeling. First time I went for 5th on the freeway..POP.Anyway...I wanted to drive back to the guys house,but it was as is.Suxx but not much you can do.Fortunately there is another tranny at my house..hehe.And I got a sweet deal anyway,so oh well.
If the Bill of Sale says 400,I don't think it will go to court.
Sorry to hear this,but it happens sometimes.I have had decent luck with members here,more than on other sites.
Hope you guys can work this out without threatening each other and move on...it is only a car.

I myself have bought an older truck from a guy before only to have the motor go south only a couple of days after driving it. I am in no position to take sides, but only to say things happen, there are no gaurantees.
You guy have to work this out, and please keep it above board. You both will win in the end.

A used car is a used car. And making personal threats like that isn't going to do anything but ensure any good will that the seller may have, is going to evaporate.
I recently sold my turbo NX. The engine blew 30 miles later. I told the buyer I was sorry, but it was a used, modified car. I made a deal with him that I'd do an engine swap if he sourced another engine. That's how reasonable people do things. If he had acted like an asshole, do you think I would have extended a helping hand?

This is exactly why I was hesitant to leave negative feedback about SPECALK. I know he has been a member for a while and has participated in a lot of successful transactions with other members. Unfortunately he is still lying, this time he is doing it to you guys and not just me.
I NEVER threatened the guy or his mother. He was being an ASS to me on the phone when I tried to talk to him about the problem and he hung up on me. I was trying to reason with the guy, he swore by this "$1000" tranny so I offered to give it back to him if he would pay for a $300 sr20 trans. He was a prick to me so I said "just remember that I know a whole lot more about you, Kyle, then you know about me." I can see why that seemed like a physical threat but later that week I also made it clear in a series of TXT's that I have no intentions of physically doing anything to him and I was referring to my knowledge of his name, address, etc....Legally I know a lot more about him then he knows about me. I am 28 years old, have a family and a good career I'm not some lil gangsta that goes around beating people up.....
Him and his buddy went out of there way to talk about how good this tranny was and how it didn’t have pop out. Less then 300 HIGHWAY miles later it started popping out. What could I have done to break 5th gear? All I was doing was cruising up I95 in 5th gear at 75mph. I'm not some boy racer who was going around banging gears. But even if I was, if that tranny was as bulletproof as he claimed why does it have pop out? SPECALKs buddy was encouraging me and my friend who test drove the car to do a hi-rev second gear drop to see that the tires chirp..wtf?
I think I was pretty fair in my original post. I didn't talk sh*t about specalk, just his behavior throughout this transaction. Lesson learned; if you buy something from a member of this forum and it turns out to be a piece of sh*t don't cry about it and post negative feedback.
For the record, Kyle seemed like a very nice guy until I called him and told him that I was having problems. Then he turned in to a prick. I know I bought this car "as is" and this is one of the risks. But I also know that if I sold something to another forum member (or any person) and it malfunctioned before they even got it home I would feel inclined to help them out and would.
wow...5th gear pop....not tryin to be a dick but i find it hard to believe he sold to you like that...seeing as ive drivin the car and its only been ran hard a few times out of its build. those trannies are just about indestructable and i know for a fact that that thing was in excellent shape. for 1, he takes nothing but the best care for his cars and for 2, the guy who built that setup is just plainly a monster! the guy biulds flawless setups and id say when you have master mech. thats been in the field for years calling and askin you (a uncertified hobby wrench turner) questions and help...that says enough in it self. if it were my guys id say that the car was beat on on the way home from after purchase(like most car buyers do right after purchase) but i could mos. def. be wrong. sorry to hear about the issues and if you happen to find a way to work past that then i give you congrats on a wekk kept egg and enjoy!

No doubt about the fact that 5th gear is shot, but like I said before...I'm not some little boy racer who was driving around banging the gears. But even if I was it is unlikely that 5th would be the one to break, right? How often are you getting into 5th if your racing around town?
Overall the car is very nice, its just too bad that I can't drive it. I live in the D.C. area and cant go anywhere without getting on the highway. With the short gearing I need 5th.
