Realtime ECU Quick Start Manual

This is a quick manual on how to correctly setup your Realtime ECU before installing it in a car. I'll make a cleaner pdf version of this later, but for now this will do.

Remember, install drivers before connecting ECU!

Web version:

http://www.calumsult.com/calumsu/Pro...t%20manual.mht

Word document:

http://www.calumsult.com/calumsu/Pro...t%20manual.doc

READ THIS - 11-2-2007
Use the version (0074) of EmUtility in the link below! The newer rev seems to have broken the communication with the emulator.

http://www.calumsult.com/calumsu/random/EmUtility.zip

Edit - Link to the newer unified driver for Windows 2000/XP and Vista-

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%202.04.06.exe

What to do after this?

Get TunerProRT installed (you don't need to continue to use EmUtil, TP can do everything EmUtil can do)-

Vista?

It is hard buying a laptop without Vista now. Does this work with Windows Vista? All my XP laptops are dead or dying...

Dell still sells XP laptops. I need to pick up a copy of Vista and document the install procedure for it. Mainly, check the FTDI website for the most current vista drivers (which also happen to be the most current XP drivers)-

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

I know TunerPro RT and Nissan DataScan work with Vista.

Both should be fine. When you run the unified driver, what does it say? Where are you getting hung up?

Vista blows anyways! Horribly slow and annoying, just get a copy of XP and load it up on the new laptop, or do a dual boot setup... it will save you some headaches.

Guys, just in case remember to confirm if XP drivers are available for your laptop /pc's, as well if any BIOS update/ roll back is required to have Vista or XP installed.

BTW, if anyone needs help with Alienware pc I kind of have some experiece with those.

I will download the files, hopefully soon I can get tuned by callum
