Suitable replacement for 27SF512 chips

Is the 27c256 a suitable replacement for the 27SF512? I can't seem to source the SF512 around here; perhaps they are now obsolete?

Thanks for any input, guys!

Yep, the 27SF512 is obsolete. They are still readily available on Ebay-

The 27C256 will work for a 91-93 B13 as long as you use 150ns rated or faster. However they're UV erasable (if they have a window!) so working with them is a pain.

Hey Calum! Thanks for taking the time to chime in. Is there a better/modern/more suitable chip than the C256?

Not in a 24pin dip package. When they were discontinued I bought 2000 27SF512s just to support the basic boards I've got left in stock. When I run out of those (2 years+) I'm planning on moving to the 27SF010, but it's a 32 pin part. It's also not currently supported by a Moates burner so I'll have to switch burners too, but seeing as how all the chips the Moates supports have been obsoleted maybe they'll start supporting it in 2 years. Anywho there will be 27SF512 in small quantity channels like ebay for years.
