Any of the free software offer data-logging? I'm really wanting to see if anything's going on with my car.

CalumSult does. Don't forget to hit the 'on' button on the gauge screen.

yeh ecutalk does also...i benchmarked the datalogging rate of ecutalk (v1.3.2+) and it turned out 3 times faster than datascan using the same number of sensors (datascan seemed to drop quite a lot of packets).

Yes, EcuTalk is the fastest logger i have ever seen. I am one of the Beta Testers with a PDA.

With my notebook ECUTalk takes much more entries in the same time as NissanDataScan does.

No, you don't need anything else, Nissan DataScan works just fine with the Realtime. When you connect the Realtime you get two new virtual com ports- port A is a standard consult port (point Nissan DataScan or any other consult software to this port) and port B is the emulator (TunerProRT auto detects this port). Follow the QuickStart Guide post, it shows you how to identify which com port is your consult port.

Calcum, I picked up a board on ebay and the serial to usb cable. However I can't get the calcumsalt software to connect. Everything is working, the ezconsult can connect, but thats when I change the com port to #8. I know the calcumsalt software lets you pick the port however the menu doesn't drop down. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still I cannot get the com port menu to drop down. Any advice?

Are you using Vista or XP? Did you download the full installer?

i get the same thing as well. I have to open and close it several times to get to to drop down and even then it doesnt work... I have a 20% success rate with this. The other free programs work fine, except srtalk which works to monitor but I can read or log a/f it crashes when it does

I am also not able to view trouble codes on any programs though I am able to clear them.

I'm having the same problem with a laptop I've used Calumsult on before. On the initialize page nothing will click and drop down unless you go to one of the other pages a few times, and even then it will go down and when I select the correct com port it won't connect. Tunerpro works fine on the same laptop, and I've still got my old laptop that calumsult works fine on.

there is a beta of ECUTalk v1.3.5 which adds alerts - define alerts for battery voltage, temperature, injector duty cycle, speed, airflow and RPM, and the gauge will flash (invert colours) and beep if an alert is hit
