The VE program is based off the stock Nissan SR16VE maps, which seem to be conservative enough for cali gas.

It's got more than enough ignition advance on those stock maps too. 33 deg of timming eeek lol. I'm not sure how much more you can go on 91 pump water.

So hold on a sec... you have a program that will run a VE on 91 octane? I am looking into this to get one but I have a 99 SEL sentra with a sr20ve, maf and injectors. I am still a little confused though. I have a JWT right now but i have timing issues on the bottom end. The JWT retards timing on the bottom end and the car bogs.

I have 22* advance right now, but I feel it may be too much for the top end, even though I have experienced no detonation.

He didn't specifically make a map for 91 octane. His VE base map works just fine with it though. And I know that you're talking about with the jwt bogging between 2-3.5k I have driven a JWT ecu'd VE and noticed the same thing. I drove a ve with a calum ecu and it didn't have that weird low end stumble.

Is the stumble only when it's cold?

The car I drove, had it when warm. And on the wideband you can see the car running real rich til just past 3k. My buddy noticed this because he went to the track and the car would always bog at the launch. We also have a NA car with the JWT 100shot/370cc program and it does the same thing (we saw lots of weird stuff when we did a dyno with a consult). Other folks on the forum have noticed issues with JWT NA programs with bigger than stock injectors. I'm not knocking JWT for it, they can't have a perfect program all the time. And I really love my turbo program.

The problem on the VE program is it holds the timing at somehing like 5* until it hits around 3,000 rpm when the engine is cold (don't hold me on the exact numbers, it's been a while). I could see this clearly on my aPexi Multichecker.

Is this the JWT program?

Does the Calum program have this problem too?

Chriscar uses the Calum ecu so im gonna guess that its on the Calum program as well. Im using the same cali program for the VE on my car without any problems. As a matter of fact, Andy(yellow4g63) re-tuned mine yesterday by reburning the chips. Also, the timing was bumped about 2 degrees and it runs flawlessly so far. This is all using 91 octane fuel too. Calum is right though, the initial map is pretty rich, much along the lines of what a turbo car should be running, but even then, the car runs just fine.

I think Chris is referring to the JWT ecu. Baldy needs to be more specific.

Calum,

Even though your VE program is based off the SR16VE maps, the B13_SR20DE.adr file is the correct one to use in ROM Editor, right?
