calum, need some help

I bought an ecu daughterboard from you about two months ago and i was just wondering...

What were the specs on the ecu ..like what kind of maf sesor is it programmed for..reason im asking is that I'm coming to a conclusion that the motor is starved for fuel at 5 psi & up. I've changed all the typical stuff,, plugs, maf, TPS, fuel filter, and checked for boost leak etc.

I finally thought the problem was a blown motor so I just bought a bb motor and am running it with the same DE maf and a 255 walbro pump, and the exact same problem exists, the car bogs badly @ 7 psi and up.

If you need anymore information email me at jkube@execulink.com

Just a further update, I just now put in the stock DE ECU and the motor behaves exactly the same. I would have expected to see some sort of change between the 2 ECUs

I am now going to install the Emanage system I have and see if I can add more fuel that way.

Adam

Adam & Jeff,

Its the bone stock U12 program setup for US sensors. See the 'USDET' thread by JRios in the ecu tuning section. I'm really surprised its running lean, the U12 is usually very rich (the timing map is also very conservative). I'm also surprised that your describing the stock ecu doing the same thing; the stock ecu with 370inj should be super rich.

Do you have a wideband? If not, just a suggestion, buy beg borrow or steal a good quality one, and get a rom burner, instead of moving to the e-manage. You'll be surprised how easy the ecu is to tune.

Hey Calum,

Just an update to bring closure to this thread. Found the source of the lean condition and engine bogging. above 3k rpms

Turns out the rubber fuel line from the pump to the sender had deteriorated so bad that it collapsed on itself. I guess it was an aftermarket line form a local auto parts store.

So when i replaced the line with a steel one, all ran well. Motor pulls very well to 6000rpms.

Just as a PS to this, we did have problems with the Walbro 255 lph pump, think it got damaged during shipping, because it doesnt provide sufficient flow. We had to put back the stock unit and turn the boost down to 7psi max.

Car still runs well and the read on the plugs show sufficient fuel is being delivered at 7psi boost. ( bottom 1/3 of ceramic core of plugs are black)

New Walbro pump on order.

Thanks for your help and patients

Adam
