How much tuning can you do with the consult port?

I am looking over your products and I was looking at the daughterboard with consult output. You cant reprogram the ecu straight through that can you? I wouldn't think so but I was reading and hearing about people talking about changing ignition maps and it made me wonder what can you do with the consult port. Is it just like hooking up a regular consult (only with your laptop) or can you use it for tuning too?

nope, it is a one way street basicly.

future board design coming out allows you USB connection to the board and real time flashable rom's on the ecu. but thats a few weeks off at best.

Its exactly like using a regular consult tool, just with a laptop for the most part. You can't make any permanent changes. The one big difference is you can 'map trace' (see sticky above), which is a must for tuning.

It really depends on how many ecus I've got in at one time. I try to keep it to a week or less.
