Felix eventually sold the club to Satchie.
Satchie had to fire me after I beat a biker unconcious, he required sixty-eight (68) stitches to close the cuts in his face. Do you understand what sixty-eight stitches in somebodies face looks like? Felony Assault Charge #2 for me, and I was nineteen years old.
I have lost more fights than anybody I know has ever been in. Perhaps fifty or sixty losses. Diagnosed at age fifteen (14?) with Severe Depression manifesting itself as a rage issue (lovely childhood, bisexuality, etc...). I've worked in bars during the eighties where I fought, punches thrown, multiple times per night (The San Antonio City Limits, off of I-10, was a Confetti's before that).
I am 6' 0" tall, 210 pounds. 44 long jacket, 36" waist. Two (2) felony assault, two (2) misdemeanor assault charges on my record. 300+ fights with blows struck. Several hundred additional folks thrown out with bodily force. The only people I can relate to with these numbers is other 20+ year bouncers. Everybody else looks at me like I am from Mars. I learned a "guillotene choke" all by myself at age 14 "rassling" with my best friend Jimbo Parks. Choked him out when the situation escalated. One friendship dissolved. I figured out a "rear naked choke" fighting on the sidewalk outside of The Bombay Bicycle Club in 1983.
My boss at Centerfolds is a martial artist bad-ass. No sh*t, real deal, plus twenty years of bouncing experience himself. He tells me the "real name" for all kinds of sh*t that I do to people in bars, that I learned myself, the hard way, by trial and error. He teaches folks MMA right now, part time, with his BJJ Brown Belt (trained in a Gracie camp in freakin' Brazil) brother who is far crazier and more violent than me. You can see his brother walking into the ring in a very early UFC as the grappling trainer of one of the fighters.
I have been a fan of MMA since the day after UFC #1 was broadcast. I watched a bootleg, from The Colorado gentlemens club, while smoking pot with my two roomates. One of which DJ'd at the Colorado and stuck a tape in the VCR when they rented the PPV.
Believe me when I tell you that this kid would last less than thirty seconds in a real, no bullsh*t, do or f*cking die, no holds barred, street fight.
